i honestly don't see the big deal. this dude will find another head coaching job in the nfl asap

It's a big deal because for a lot of young Eagles fans, he's the only Eagles coach they know. He's been around for over a decade, and before that the Eagles were a middling organization that sporadically made the playoffs.

Shoot, you could make a case for firing Reid every offseason since 2007 onward, except after the Packers loss in the playoffs.

No you can't. He took a 9-7 Eagles team to the NFCCG. You don't fire a coach after that. Besides the year after that they went 11-5.

Firing him after last season would've been justified. That's probably the first year where firing him was rational. His downfall began once Jim Johnson passed away in 2009, and he couldn't sufficiently replace him.
