Predominantly white institution (PWI) is the term used to describe institutions of higher learning in which Whites account for 50% or greater of the student enrollment.

University of Oregon Students Suffer With Lack Of Diversity

In the fall term of 2014, University of Oregon’s enrollment report showed that 15,102 of its students were white, or 77.7 percent.

Oregon is a historically racist state.

They didn't even want Blacks in the state up until recently!

When Oregon was granted statehood in 1859, it was the only state in the Union admitted with a constitution that forbade black people from living, working, or owning property there. It was illegal for black people even to move to the state until 1926. Oregon’s founding is part of the forgotten history of racism in the American west.

Today, while 13 percent of Americans are black, just 2 percent of Oregon’s population is black. This is not some accident of history. It’s a product of oppressive laws and everyday actions that deliberately excluded non-white people from a fair shot at living a life without additional obstacles being put in their way.

Only 80,000 Blacks in a state with a population of 4 million people!

At least nikkas could live in Mississippi! CACs said :mjpls: in Oregon and meant it! It's funny that :mjpls: 's basketball success and cultural influence have made Nike rich and has, as a result, increased the wealth of its flagship university, which is predominantly CAC.

Don't see the correlation. Instead of investing money on your feet you shoulda gave it to an HBCU? :dwillhuh:

Yes. We've made Phil Knight rich via Nike.

He turns around and gives the money to a PWI in a state that has been anti-Black, historically.

He's already pumped tons of money into U of Oregon. $500 million more to a school that doesn't really need it is a slap in the face.

Black people should demand Nike inject money into HBCUs or create scholarships at Oregon. Otherwise, we should stop buying the shoes.

The other 22.3% is probably the black students on the football and basketball teams.
Don't nobody else go to that school

I wear loafers, nikka.

They probably kick back nothing. But, nikkas aren't collectively spending hundreds of millions of dollars with my preferred brand of loafers.

We do that with Nike.

Nike should be investing in HBCUs.

Do whatever you want with your money, but universities are huge cash cows.
