Yeah, but you gotta look at it from Beal's perspective...

Family aside, and strictly basketball reasons, who would you rather play with Devin Booker and Kevin Durant in Phoenix or, hypothetically, since there have been discussions, in Miami with Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro?

Going somewhere else where the ceiling for success is lower doesn't help him win if his goal is competing for a championship. If Beal truly wants to win a championship, his best bet would be to stay in Phoenix, and that's part of the reason he's not interested in waving his NTC.

Sure, Miami is Miami in terms of lifestyle, but it makes better sense to play with KD and Book, where he'd have a higher probability of winning than in Miami. Also, Beal probably doesn't want to be the #1 option anymore and feels playing with Booker and KD is less pressure on him; he's performed well off the bench where if he qualified, he'd be a 6th man candidate.

Even tho Phoenix, record-wise, isn't the best, there's still a better chance of him winning just based on who his teammates are, and the potential for competing is much higher.

After hearing about Houston or Dallas being a possibility, my Kevin running it back in GSW isn't as exciting to me.

What does KD + Steph with that supporting cast even do? I'll be excited, and it makes my warriors jersey of him have meaning again ( :pachaha:) but I don't know.

Why didn't you just stay in OKC Kevin? Would probably be 4 or 5 rings deep by now :sadbron:

Nah, he wanted to be traded and wanted to go to Miami, and they weren’t interested, and Phoenix was the backup. Son said he wanted to win. That shyt ain’t working, so why are you staying there unless you’re resigning yourself to take Ls forever?
That was nearly two years ago before the whole Jimmy Butler drama started; he wanted to go to Miami to play with Jimmy and Bam after they were just coming off an ECF and Finals appearance, so the Heat looked like they were serious contenders in the East.

Fast forward to today, that's not the case anymore, with Butler wanting out and the team being worse overall in terms of the roster.

I forgot about that. People change their mind, lie, or get prideful all the time :manny:. And it aint like Bron and nem there. When he was angling to go there Jimmy was there. You think he is dying to play with Tyler Herro and Bamantè in Heat bootcamp?

Ethan scolnick says the warriors wanted to trade for Jimmy and then flip him to the suns for kd.

The suns engaged with them but now Miami is trying to get kd

Looks like the suns really want butler at all costs

Yeah, but still, for basketball purposes, if you can play with Booker and KD, most players are not leaving that situation if they can control their destiny.

The only way I could see Beal waving his NTC would be for a team that is contending and has at least another star or two on the roster.

Going to Miami would be a waste of his time in terms of competing for a championship. Phoenix may not win either, but it's still a better situation for him in terms of basketball because as long as KD and Book can still play at a high level, their ceiling will always be higher.
