nope. When most people think of visiting nyc, they think Manhattan. Many tourists come here and never set foot in the other boroughs.

As for BK...it's overrated ...I work and live here...lived in Fort Green and worked as far as East NY. And yes, population wise, it could probably be around the 3rd largest city, like you said.

The good parts of BK are just an extension of Lower Manhattan now. The BK you're probably thinking of died like 30 years ago.
Big difference with nyc from other cities is that you can live a neighborhood for 5 years...leave come back and everything and everyone is still pretty much the same....do that in nyc and return five years later and everyone has moved and every store has changed.

new york has its merits.....it definitely has a number of downsides and I can see why people wouldn't want to live there

i like beaches and prefer houses with backyards to apartment living so cali on its surface would seem to be more to my personal taste..that said cali is also expensive

If money were no object I probably would be living on six acres to walk around with my dogs somewhere....

We have nice beaches in NY. And the there's THOUSANDS of single family detached homes in this city with back yards and even pools.
