What makes it worse is these Hollywood types try to live up to an image created in the Minds of others. People automatically assume just because I live in LA that I'm ballin', getting constant work, living it up with Celebrities & that my life is some kind of non-stop episode of Entourage when in reality (yes, the Entourage moments happen a LOT) I make less than Triple Digits a year & work like a regular dude with a 9-5 & I've never been ashamed to admit it... I tell people the ugly truth all the time because we all fall for images displayed by our favorite Artists/Actors, etc when in reality outside of A-Listers I wouldn't trade spots with ANYONE else in Hollywood, these people are F**KED UP.
For example, my friend who stopped receiving those big checks was always being treated like an A-List Celebrity whenever he came back home to Chicago & everyone assumes he has $$$ & constant work. The reality of it is trying to live up to this image has cost him any chance he ever had of living a normal life because his Ego won't allow him to be seen outside of his IMAGE. Dude has been living chick to chick for almost 10 years with no consistent income all because he can't swallow his pride & go get a regular job. He has tried scheme after scheme to get back to that same level of Hollywood Living he was doing when things were GREAT in his life. I've learned most people in the Entertainment Industry never see the DOWNFALL as a real possibility & never prepare for it. I have too many Music Industry friends that went out & bought big trucks & luxury apartments when they first got things cracking that are now in debt with bad credit EMBARRASSED to be seen working a regular job due to the PERCEPTION of other people, crazy right?
These dudes & even girls would rather remain broke, struggling & miserable as long as other people THINK they're special...
Pride & Ego will destroy your life... I've seen it waaaaaaaay too many times...
Man I couldn't believe what I was watching. And then this chick wanted an engagement party for $2500 to show off in front of their friends and family. Said she was use to a certain lifestyle b/c she had a big contract years back and was getting paid. Of course the money dries up and she still wants to live like she did when she was getting paid and the husband won't say a word. Just started barking at the guy for a solution on how to keep their lifestyle. I really couldn't believe what I was seeing.
sounds like the same problem that plagues most rappers as well. living beyond their means to live up to an image and perception they think they have to portray to the public.
man, there was so many red flags with that woman, I can't fathom why dude would actually marry her.
she was so high maintenance despite not having the income to support that. just another example of folks who wanted to make themselves look good in the eyes of other people.
Exactly. The image of a typical Rapper is chains, big whip & money to blow. Could you imagine the change in perception an Artist would have if you found out Wiz Khalifa or Kid Cudi were living in a regular 2 Bedroom Apartment driving 2002 Chevy Cavaliers? Sad part is these artists are ALLOWED to portray the image they floss up until the day they are no longer profitable... that's when the labels send them their bill that they've accumulated over the years. The Lie is easier to live than the Truth.
Don't get it twisted... their are those who are living nicely but even then they still HAVE to work... the Entertainment Industry is a career, not a magic lottery ticket... "Mo' Money, Mo' Problems" has never been more truer in an Industry than this one...
I forgot they had a Time Share too
Two dollar Dogs.......
So now all you nikkas make $7,000 a month?
True but in this case that could be a good thing looking at the size of their outstanding debts. All I'm saying is that they own corporations and we have no insight to the property, income or assets of these companies. This isn't corporate bankruptcy though, they are personally bankrupt.
They're about to lose most assets, it seems.
Those two may not be good examples, as Wiz Khalifa and Kid Cudi, especially Kid Cudi, aren't has heavily flossy as most rappers.Exactly. Man what was crazy about that whole episode is that he tried to act like the bank was playing games with him and he kept stalling on giving them everything they needed like their tax returns all their expenses.that dumb nikka was paying $200 a month for her wedding ring and neglecting to pay his mortgage. does he think they can live in that ring when they get foreclosed on?
That syndication money is still coming in though.
Tichina Arnold was on Breakfast Club and said the longer the show runs in syndication the smaller her checks getthat shyt dries up after awhile
To keep up appearances. How are they supposed to land the next big deal if they pull up in a '96 Honda?I really dont want to believe this. If they're drowning in debt, why get two 2016 vehicles? Doesnt make sense.
