Larenz Tate Sued -- Menace II His AMEX Card

Larenz Tate deals in "Dead Presidents" onscreen, but offscreen he has nothing to do with them ... which is why American Express is suing him.

The "Menace II Society" star racked up more than $57K on his AMEX card but didn't pay a Native American cent ... according to court docs obtained by TMZ.

AMEX claims in its lawsuit it's sent several demands for payment -- but got radio silence from the famous debtor.

AMEX wants $57,912.85.

Maybe he SHOULDA left home without it.

Will also learned his lesson from Uncle Sam really early lol...they garnished his checks for the first 3 seasons of fresh prince due to back taxes

Yea, Will was going through a lot of financial troubles back in the day, and that was right after his rap career was poppin.

The Surprisingly Poor Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air

So after blowing through millions of dollars, buying such must-haves as a necklace with the words “The Fresh Prince” encrusted on it in diamonds, 19 year old Will Smith was woken up by the IRS knocking on his door. Smith later stated, “They wanted $2.8 million and I had two dollars and eighty three cents.” We can only assume when he told them he didn’t have any money, using that charm and charisma that got him the nickname “Prince” in the first place, he perhaps also turned his pockets inside out, shrugged and made a “I’m sorry” face. Whether the scene played out like that or not, the IRS proceeded to take all of his stuff.

The effect of this massive debt was felt by Smith almost immediately. As Smith said, “There’s nothing more sobering than having six cars and a mansion one day and you can’t even buy gas… the next.”

By 1989-1990, he was broke, and not only broke, but owing massive sums to the IRS, an organization not exactly known for forgiving debt and which maintains amazingly high interest rates on unpaid taxes. This is when life handed Smith a way to get out of the pile of crap of a situation he had put himself into.

"The Fresh Prince" show saved him, if anything.

It is really sad that black people are going after Tisha Campbell and Duane Martin, like that. I wish them success, hope and candour in such a time.

Lessons learned:
  • Blacks should buy used, pre-owned or certified preowned items, equipment, goods
  • Blacks need to support one another in times of need
  • Black need to callout other blacks to bring attention to proper issues to fix.
  • Black Actors and black actresses need more TV acting and executive roles
  • Black Entertainers and blacks and other people in infrequent paying jobs, should spend less than their making.
  • Entertainer blacks, should diversify sources of income, especially if paycheck is not frequent
  • Black should be careful where they shop and save.
  • Where possible, save your money! Dont spend it!
  • Blacks need to strategize and be exceptional, like Will Smith. Will Smith studyed the film game, before, become an actor. Will smith gets $20 million a picture.
It's so easy to say but Black Hollywood like our reality. We got nobody but ourselves. Nobody. And it is beyond fukked up

Lol only? Yaw internet nikkas are delusional. With tax benefits thats 100k family.
They aren't a normal couple :comeon:

Being celebrity with classic material and being on tv everyday, with million dollar homes and cars, you'd think they were making more.

Obviously 100k is a decent income, but it's not 15mil in debt type income.

Perfect example of this is rappers

It's like these black musicians don't even look at pass artist

It's like why black musicians rappers especially don't look how ray Charles demanded his masters and got paid to how Toni Braxton went broke or tlc or even lil wayne problems

Black entertainers always say this wouldn't happen to me and it always does
