Sad stuff. Conservatuve groups have been on a campaign to sue corporations to ditch DEI measures the past few years. The bigger dominoes have been falling in the last 3- 6 months.

Im wondering why they dont just keep the items that were selling? Customers kept buying this product because they liked it, why completely sever the relationship with her?
Chances are they are going to do a complete re-org on priorities in the wake of this and just cut the cord with anything associated with DEI. Why? Target is a big fish. The same way they pushed LGBTQ products out not just because of outcry but because conservatives are actually taking folks to court, this would fall under that.

A white person comes along and talks about how their product can't get on store shelves but there is a program specifically for minorities? This is the world we live in. Costco keeping it's efforts may open it up to some expensive scrutiny and was only able to keep things in place due to 98% of it's shareholders voting to keep them in place. Watch Trump use a bunch of departments to start fukking with them.
You know, we can fix this problem once we support our own. As more lines get drawn in the sand I’m expecting more unity amongst our folk.
"Support our own" with what money? Supply lines? Infrastructure? A lot of our people don't even live in places with proper grocery stores. Add in climate change and that "do for self" shyt is shaky. We share destinies with these folks AND pay taxes. We are owed and can't shy from that with pie-in-the-sky rhetoric.
This is very troubling. Supplier diversity program get minority business owners in front of procurement professionals who make all the decisions on which products and services organizations purchase.
Yup, you see this kinda stuff on their internal branding all the time. A lot of minorities, in our case black folks, are gonna have their shyt dry up overnight.
This is actively hurting black people.

Hope they still have the black hair products I bought one for locks that’s really good but the container I got is still pretty full and I did cut them off but I’m gonna bring them back next month. I’ll just have to go back to salons again to ration my products. Hate going to the Chinese beauty supply stores

Of course they are going to keep what sells. But all the brands that got put on for diversity the last few years, if it don't make dollars...yall know the rest. I don't know anyone who uses this brand. But then again I don't know too many people that shop at target

It doesn't sound like you were supporting the brand you want to stay put on

Disengenous and stupid. Bothsides is a surface level, juvenile, defeatist faction where nothing has to be analyzed in any depth AND not being able to do something, whatever the circumstances, is the same as choosing not to do it.

It also ignores that when things are being done specifically for black people, one side swoops in like Batman to beat them up in courts citing "reverse racism."

While that bothsides nonsense is cracking, im constantly checking to see if the Democratic-led effort for Reparations in Evanston will die in court to a conservative judge in the same country that voted in Trump.
Breh no matter who won that election the country was going in the same direction. The same people control the strings behind the scenes. You're the one that's being naive and juvenile.

White women benefiting from AA or EOE disproportionately is facts… but you’re such a snake ass, hoe ass nikka, you’ll omit or disregard that type of data on these types of.arguments… I know you got me on ignore but you’ve been exposed as a poor American nikka hater who is a 2nd generation immigrant that worships capitalism and white adjacency….

They may benefit, but I highly doubt we’ll see many stories of white women losing jobs or opportunities like this because they wanted more women represented, other than firefighters, or other male dominated manual labor fields.

:beli:I don't know why you said that to me like it's something profound. One thing I know for sure is nothing is permanent without a constant fight. "Country was going in the same direction" the hell does that mean? Trump getting into office was the ultimate accelerant. Having Dems in office can mean judges who will take up cases on stuff like this and actually rule in favor of minorities who have been wronged. It means having a functioning Consumer Financial Protection Bureau who will look into corporate largess, a justice department who will see companies dump minorities like this and take them to court, a National Labor Relations Board who will protect minorities if this DEI mania turns into finding creative ways to cut people loose.

Your POV is a fishbowl in a conversation that calls for the great lakes

I don’t disagree at all… I still think Carols daughter, TGIN, still selling like a mofo and it has shyt to do with DEI…. Just like Shea Moisture and a few other black brands did extremely well…. I say that to say, we need to look at these storylines with a critical eye and not get our emotions…., For all we know, Target eliminating DEI or whatever was a convenient excuse to drop a brand that has been underperforming for half a decade, while propping up other minority owned brands that are thriving
