Chances are they are going to do a complete re-org on priorities in the wake of this and just cut the cord with anything associated with DEI. Why? Target is a big fish. The same way they pushed LGBTQ products out not just because of outcry but because conservatives are actually taking folks to court, this would fall under that.Sad stuff. Conservatuve groups have been on a campaign to sue corporations to ditch DEI measures the past few years. The bigger dominoes have been falling in the last 3- 6 months.
Im wondering why they dont just keep the items that were selling? Customers kept buying this product because they liked it, why completely sever the relationship with her?
A white person comes along and talks about how their product can't get on store shelves but there is a program specifically for minorities? This is the world we live in. Costco keeping it's efforts may open it up to some expensive scrutiny and was only able to keep things in place due to 98% of it's shareholders voting to keep them in place. Watch Trump use a bunch of departments to start fukking with them.
"Support our own" with what money? Supply lines? Infrastructure? A lot of our people don't even live in places with proper grocery stores. Add in climate change and that "do for self" shyt is shaky. We share destinies with these folks AND pay taxes. We are owed and can't shy from that with pie-in-the-sky rhetoric. You know, we can fix this problem once we support our own. As more lines get drawn in the sand I’m expecting more unity amongst our folk.
Yup, you see this kinda stuff on their internal branding all the time. A lot of minorities, in our case black folks, are gonna have their shyt dry up overnight. This is very troubling. Supplier diversity program get minority business owners in front of procurement professionals who make all the decisions on which products and services organizations purchase.
This is actively hurting black people.
