They had an entanglement with Mercedes and then had a brilliant idea to try to continue their designs without the actual engineers inventing the shyt. So you have American engineers using German designs that were all garbage bin ideas to avoid patent lawsuits. Mercedes didn’t want the ideas because they knew they were pretty shytty, but let it happen anyways and now we have this shyt heap called Stellantis “trying” to fix things.
