“This tour is not going to be like your average rap show,” DJ Paul says in an exclusive interview with HipHopDX. "It ain’t gonna be just a bunch of crazy mothafukkas on stage waving towels in the air. It’s gonna be a show. It’s going to be like a performance, like a Las Vegas-style show, almost like a play. It’s going to be a real theatrical show. It’s going to be something real cool for the fans. We’re going to be doing something real different. We’re going to be performing all the hits, the new, the old. It’s going to be a must-see.”
In addition to being Da Mafia 6ix’s first tour, it is also the first bona fide tour featuring the crew since it formed Three 6 Mafia with Juicy J in the 1990s.
“When Koop was in the group and Boo was in the group, we never did a straight back-to-back tour,” DJ Paul says. "We did shows and we might be gone for Wednesday to Sunday, or Thursday to Sunday and come back home every week, but we never did a tour where we’d leave and straight be gone for two-and-half or three months with a different show every single night. It’s going to be interesting. I’m interested to see how gonna hold and who gonna fold, especially with Boo being a lady. Men, you know, we can grind it out. We can take a sink bath. We can go in there, get the armpits and a$$holes and we’ll be ready to roll. But women, you know they can’t really do that. We got hotel rooms everyday, so it’ll be cool, but it’ll still be a hustle. Doing anything every single day is hard. This is more than even a regular job. We ain’t even got Saturdays and Sundays off.”
The forthcoming Triple 6ix Sinners Tour also follows the December 2013 of passing of Lord Infamous. Lord Infamous, who is DJ Paul's brother, is the one who encouraged DJ Paul to form Da Mafia 6ix.
“That’s just the hard part because we never did this before,” DJ Paul says. "It would be great if he could be a part of it, but he is part of it because this group wouldn’t be together if it wasn’t for him. He put the group back together and he left us. I guess he just figured his job was done. Whatever the purpose of that was, I guess we’ll find out. We might already be finding out because people love the mixtape. It’s going to be hard not having him there.”
