Baze don't fit our starting five. We need to seriously need to find a SF. Maybe MEM might be willing to trade Jeff Green.

I wouldn't want Jeff Green, but I actually thought Baze played more under control at times than he usually does. He just plays so outta control sometimes...it's like he refuses to consistently play within the pace & timing of this system

But I'm interested in why you don't think he fits our starting 5...I feel like we gonna agree 100% on this

Watching the game, he just don't fit like Smoove didn't fit. Not saying he's Smoove but he just don't seem to fit. He seemed fine in that smaller spot role but as a starter, I see issues. Thabo fits a lot better but his offense in this system is bad. We need a legit upgrade at SF. Kyle could be upgraded too.

As for tonight's game...I feel like it was a few stretches where BOS just outhustled us. That run late in the third, that run to end the game. Disappointed we didn't consistently match their effort when we should be better than them. These games where we lack the consistent effort worry me going into a playoff series

My biggest issue with BAZE outside of how wild and out of control he can be is how small he is. He's a defensive liability against teams with SFs with any type of real size. BAZE is 6'5, 200, he's gettin pushed around by the Bron's, Melo, George Paul's, KD's of the world. But I agree I just don't know where/how we upgrade. That 2/3 is especially weak for us with Korver not moving well and THJR not playing. It's the main reason I had us behind CLE in the East b/c I don't see us getting enough production from those positions

Man, yall better stop disrespecting sefolosha's offensive ability. This is probably the best system for him too. He can complete the starting 5 way better than sorry ass jeff green.

Thabo has played well offensively, I actually wanted him to start but he's still recovering from the broken leg so he's not gonna play as much so it made sense to start Baze in his place. But let's be real about what Thabo is offensively, Thabo is probably getting you 10 ppg max, he's not a natural scorer. This is the best system for him, but that's not getting us a lot of offensive production

How much production do you want? Demarre averaged 12.6 ppg last year. No player is going to come in and average 20 points. Sure thabo is not the shooter that demarre BECAME, but he is a better ball handler, passer, defender, and a better finisher when driving.

Also, nobody that we could acquire is going to learn the system quick enough for us to not miss a beat.

It would be nice to have a wing player capable of scoring 15-20 ppg. I don't think that's asking too much. I'm not as concerned about the regular season, I think we win the division and win between 50-55 games, I'm much more concerned about matching up in the East in the playoffs at the 2/3 and having a guy who can create and defend his position. I don't expect anything to happen this season, but let's be real here and admit we're subpar on the perimeter

We are subpar on the perimeter because thabo is working on getting himself back 100%. What team isnt subpar at 1 position? We are exceptional at the pg, pf, center spots. Where we are "subpar" with starters, we have great depth.

Im more concerned about the playoffs too. The best thing for this team is thabo guarding the best perimeter player. By then surely he'll be up to play more minutes.

15-20 ppg? How? There arent any wings available capable of that. And if there were, it would cost us a big piece of our team. I want a scorer like u do but its just not feasible and im content with that. A part of me thinks that is what coach bud envisioned with tim hardaway jr. It's taking him some time to adjust but eventually I think he plays a scoring role for us.

Jeff Green was good with Boston, it's not his fault that he's best off the ball and Memphis is a low post-high post team with Conley creating the rest.
