Team fought hard last night. Dennis was a beast.

Bazemore is a problem.

I'm cool with the team trying to see if they can recapture the magic heading into the playoffs, although with each passing game I lose hope of that happening. Nobody is beating the Warriors, not even the cavs so this is more of a try out for next year. To see who deserves to be here beyond this season.

Now if we bring this same team back without addressing sf next yr then we gon have problems:birdman:

So let me ask everybody this: forget the regular season b/c it's obvious we're not going to be as good as we were last season. What does this team have to do in the playoffs for this season to be a success?

Based on what I've seen, I expect a first round loss. Not making it back to the ECF is a complete organizational failure and would signal, at least in part, that the makeup of this franchise was a failure and that serious changes need to be made.

That's the part I've come to grips with. No finish is gonna satisfy us besides a championship. Even after last season we weren't satisfied.

We went as far as you can go without a Bron and we lost to his team. We would have been decimated by the Warriors. In the grand scheme of things, making it to the 2nd round would be a success this yr, to me at least.

Despite how we look nobody in the east scares me besides the cavs. So I can't really say "the makeup of this team is a failure". We are in solid economic standing and we have a lot of players teams covet. We are flexible enough to improve.

Before I label budcox a failure I have to see what they do in an offseason where we HAVE to make changes, this summer. I doubt any gm would have had the foresight to see how much we would regress from last year.

I say the makeup of this team is a failure because we don't have any athletes at the 2/3 capable of competing with elite SG & SF in the league. We don't have a C on this roster (Al is a PF, Tiago's done and wasn't effective while healthy & Edy's still too raw), this wasn't a roster built to have great long term success. They banked on everybody having career years and thought it would translate to another season. Bud & Wes lacked foresight to not improve the roster.

I'm glad we do have assets, but I'm not sure what the vision for this roster or team is and I'm gonna admit it, I don't know how much I trust Bud & Wes to figure it out

atleast a ECF anything lower is a failure theres no way to overthink this. We've kept basically the same core as last year minus Carroll which was a big loss but brought in Splitter and THJ and all three of those moves have been bust. The worst part of all of this imo is that were going to lose Horford when we should have dealt him at the deadline.

It really just highlights how bad this team is. Can't rebound, can't shoot. And now they're in another funk and nobody of importance on this team got traded so they can't use the excuse of "trade rumors" anymore

Last yr was a fluke breh, assuming we make the playoffs they will get destroyed in the first round
It's amazing how DMC appears to be that important to hawks success. ...or my tinfoil hat brehs are right...

Hawks should start Teague/Dennis for the rest of the year. Last night showed Dennis has more heart than all these cats combined which is why I think the Hawks should have pulled the trigger on Horford to get 1 or 2 good young pieces. At this point, Horford isn't even doing anything to positively effect the team ( I don't know if he's just playing to get to the off-season or what). Last year, Millsap and Carroll showed way more heart in their contract years. I think this is Teague's last season as a Hawk, probably should have pulled the trigger for Olidipo. Best thing the Hawks can hope for with Horford is a sign-and-trade and I would blow a fukking fuse if they max this dude out. He is not a impact player in the NBA.

One more thing, Dennis is only 22, but I put money that he'd be willing to take the Hawks final shot every time he gets the opportunity. I can't say that about anyone else on this team.

Tonight is going to be so interesting. I'm almost expecting the Hawks to get emasculated on all levels and Curry to leave Philips with about 70-80 pts.

From RealGM
The Atlanta Hawks had interest in moving Jeff Teague to the Milwaukee Bucks for Khris Middleton.

Middleton is in the first season of a five-year, $70 million deal with the Bucks.

The Bucks turned down that offer from the Hawks.

Teague is signed through the 16-17 season. Milwaukee actually signed Teague to an offer sheet in 2013 that the Hawks matched.
That would have been a good trade for us

we also lost Pero breh. Those pumpfakes might have been the key to our success
