It was a time when you were in your mid 20s and considered washed up in rap music.

Nowadays everyone from all walks of life can be in the rap game.

Future is 40 and recently had the number 1 album in the charts.

K. Dot is in his late 30s and released the biggest song of the year

Just bumping this earlier

Thread should be stickied. Funny… human body at peak condition is supposed to live up to 120 years they say… why we ready to bury people at 40-50+:jbhmm:
Thinking the same thing

It's funny society tells you to wrap it up by 40s, but you have a good 30 years left if you take care of yourself and things go in your favor

Good to see.

Was always salty seeing aging rockers get love even from younger generations.
But aging rappers being seen as outdated and corny.

Kids can wear a nirvana shirt, and some ac dc shirts. but try sending your kid to school in some wu wear or roca wear and see how they feel when they come home.

Rocawear was huff.
when it dropped.

Y'all was just complicit.

Wu tang logo is regarded in rhe same manner.
as those rock touring logos.
found on rock band styled ringers, raglans and short sleeves.

Never wore.
As well, as....
will never wear:
rocawear or Sean Jean.

I had troop first in the hood.

To know better for decades by then.
to not get sent off on clothes.
Rocawear was never first gen iceberg. To warrant a purchase in that era.

Nas made this a wave. They were either trying to be young or scared to drop.

After the Kings Disease run a lot of vets have come outside despite knowing that their shyt might not move nothing. You get to see who is really passionate about this still.
"I'm 21 years past the 27 club....."....... rejuvenated a whole generation with that.. :wow:

now...really :francis:
Yes what’s different now than any other time a artist drops

Rakim been dropping albums that didn’t get any attention since 1996

Go to any artist’s Wikipedia and you will find albums that didn’t get any attention

If you are a fan of r&b some artists even have cover albums or at least singles on Apple Music that don’t get any attention at all so yes this is pedantic

It’s also pedantic acting like today’s music is all wack
