NY all day..Da Stead & BK..
I don't get how anyone could say that everyone in this group were weed carriers...the revisionist hip hop discourse on SM is fukking trash lol

A solid 4 mic album from this era, I bought it the day it came out.
All them nikkas could spit except Bizarre. Lol

Hell I'll even add the Outlawz to this...Fatal and Kadafi were dope as hell, God rest their souls, and the rest of them were group level emcees. But you're right....Bizarre just played his position as the shock guy but had decent verses from time to time (Trife Thieves for example).

Em gave Obie a feature on his 3rd album, son wasnt even Shady/Aftermath affiliated then. Per Obie he didnt have to do/did it out of love.

Those fellas are grateful and looked at it as Em giving them a platform to run with. He got them to the top/is still a phone call away if needed. You cant ask for more than that. And these are Detroit born fellas we're talking about, from a city of hustle and do for your self. Being standup is enough sometimes.

Funny how The Booth always paint Eminem as someone who never cared/cares about the people he came up with, and did nothing to put them on.

Bizarre has said on numerous occasions that Eminem saved his life.

The first Eminem related album i brought as a you gets :wow:

I’m glad “These Drugs” and “Words Are Weapons” are available on streaming platforms. :obama:
I never heard These Drugs before. I clown Em but I’m glad he got clean. The end of this song would’ve been real sad if he had actually gone out that way.

Also at a certain point you can’t expect one person to take care of so many people. I think most of D12 understands.

Mr. Porter always been taking care of himself as a producer. Proof always understood. I can’t speak for the other 3.

:damn::damn:

that freestyle

i'm somewhat of an Em stan but heard this once over 10 years ago and never again :mindblown:

remembered the rhyme scheme, aggression and everything

but never been able to find it (til now) that I thought I imagined it :wtf:

Devils Night is a classic BTW. Eminem was in his prime and D12 as a whole were underrated.
I never heard this freestyle before but it’s real dope.

It's a catch 22, if he signed and released an album on Shady then cats would just say he was dikkriding or only got an album out because of Em but he chose to do it on his own and the album isn't very well known and def didn't blow up when it dropped.

I guess that depends on how you look at it. He charted 66 on billboard and in the top ten on the indie chart. If we translate it to today, it probably would be, in my opinion, number 1 on the indie chart and probably top 20 on billboard.

Just to give a comparison, Proofs album charted higher on billboard than Westside Gunn and Conways recent solo albums

Denaun Porter (Kon Artis) also deserves way more love as a producer. It’s insane Em had this guy in his corner and rarely used him.

I’ve never seen another producer on Rhythm Roulette with the balls to pick just one record instead of three…and make 3 bangers off it at that.

Maybe that was a blessing to Mr Porter, because it allowed him to spread his wings and not just be known as Eminem’s producer
