Signing to Good Music was the worst thing to happen to this dude. Nas should have signed him. Someone who would give him back up .

According to Cyhi it wasn’t GOOD Music that dropped the ball, it was his contractual ties to Akon’s brother’s label that continually held him back for YEARS.

Kanye and Good couldn’t do much for him while he was basically being held hostage from a deal he signed when he was barely out of his teens

Yeah, Godfathers, top shotters, block robbers
Outsiders, box riders, God got us
Dodge Chargers, mob daughters, trap houses
Fly swatters, dough stoppers, got choppers
Know mobsters who love murder, like soccer
Light talker, put in work, night walker
Might off ya, good shooter, knife propper
Dice dropper, street ties, white collar
I done seen it all, I was taught by the mob
When you stop behind the car, give yourself another car length
Can't let 'em box you in, that's how they did Pac them
Only trust your friends as far as you can toss them
And you ain't a boss if you ain't ever took a loss, pimp
When you in the club leave your pistol on the car rim
My OGs done retired, that's why the police never caught them
So get your money and get out, that's the lost gem

That last verse :wow: breh was moonwalking on that bytch

I wonder why dude couldn’t go on a Currensy like grind or something. He’s got all of the talent in the world and I know he got fukked over extremely bad with the major label situation but he’s got enough of a name and a decent catalog to tour, sell merch, and be a giant in the underground. Currensy, Krit, Baldy James, hell even Freddie Gibbs before last year were on their GRIND putting out quality projects. Cyhi could do the same

The deal, I believe they would have took a piece of everything he tried to do. Not sure if he is free from that deal with Akon's brother but when he speaks on the deal in interviews he mentions that these people are serious dudes, street dudes. Dealing with that shyt must have been exhausting and took away some of his love for this shyt.

He even did an IG live in the past where he just sounded like he was done with rap music.
