He isn't really self righteous, he has plenty of songs talking about how he fukked up a situation. BTW, there's a lot of humility in his writing.

CyHi can spit but he comes off like a southern Lloyd Banks on this album so far, the content rarely deviates from the trappings of trap rap and neither does his delivery. The lyrics are very sharp but he's not saying nothing particularly interesting, a stronger delivery could have compensated for that imo. On top of that the lyrics themselves feel oddly not personal, he's chalk-full of artful punchlines, alliteration, plays on words, etc. but it didn't really resonate on a souful level to me. Soulfulness is typically a strength for southern emcees, CyHi left me a little cold by the time I got halfway through this album
