Cleveland tanked to get LeBron.
Right, they just "tanked" their way to 17 wins. Ignore that the Cavs only won 29/30/32 games the three seasons before that (when they still had Andre Miller, Weatherspoon, and Murray).
But they must have just been "pretending" to suck for four seasons, right?
LeBron failed to make the playoffs in his first two seasons when all-world point gurad Jeff McInnis fell to injuries.
What are you even talking about? They won just as often when McInnis was out as when he was there. But you're right - when "all-world point guard McInnis" is the 2nd-best player on your team, you're pretty vulnerable.
In Lebron's rookie season, he lifted the Cavs from 17 wins up to 35 (their best total in 6 seasons) even though they didn't add anyone else meaningful and he was the best player on the court at only 18 years old.
In Lebron's 2nd season, they won 42 games and lost the 8th seed on a tiebreaker
even though they had lost Boozer, their 2nd-best player, for nothing. The starting lineup was Z, Gooden, McGinnis, and Newble.
In Lebron's 3rd season, the only "addition" was Larry Hughes, and they won 50 games and nearly beat the Pistons in Hughes's absence before collapsing after he rejoined the team. That began Lebron's current 10-season streak of never going down in the playoffs before taking on the Finals team for 6-7 games first.
The Cavs got twice as good the moment Lebron stepped on the floor.
