Seems like all his tapes hit the major outlets like Spotify now. Folks still hitting those tape sites up for his music?

I will always hit up LiveMixtapes off GP..

I still load music on the SanDisk flash drive.

Besides, I don't do the streaming thing because at anytime they can take the tapes off or remove songs due to sample clearances.

It's dope to hear Currensy spitting over more energetic beats like this. This whole EP is fire. Hopefully they keep hitting us with music.

I got to check this project out but I've been avoiding it. JD makes fun music and is a great producer for sure, he'll make a banger.

However can JD make beats that inspire depth from Curren$y so we get real song writings or emotions? Can JD make a real rap body of work still? Can JD have Spitta make a hit and be organic or will this shyt all flop?
Its 2023 and Spitta has been known for 15 damn years, you're getting lifestyle and motivational raps, to expect otherwise is just being a weirdo for the sake of being a weirdo. My concern from project to project is whether or not he's going to go about rapping in a clever way or not and he picks and chooses when he does so at this point. The consistency of the 2010s isn't there anymore.

Breh, I know this. Let me clarify, I was a Curren$y fan back when Aint No Mixtape dropped in the blog era. However he raps fukking lazy sometimes and sounds unmotivated. As you said he chooses when he really wants to rap and be clever and I would hope a producer like JD could have him focused and wanting to really rap. On Pilot Talk 1 or even when he signed with Warner and did Stoned Immaculate you can tell he was really putting effort in his writing and trying new things. Same with most the work he did when signed with Dame Dash or the work he did with Wayne on Young Money Dedication.

All in all, I would hope JD working with him could get him wanting to really rap again like he did back in 2010 or at least trying to be creative. That's why I had to stop listening to his music for years cause it became the same ol shyt.

As an OG spitta fan that had pretty much stopped even checking for his joints for the same exact reasons you expressed, I don’t get that sleepwalking through albums vibe that made me fallback…he sounds locked in on here

From watching the interviews I think he understands the gravity of his situation with JD. JD doesn't flop, and doesn't miss, if he's working with you it's because you really got something.

I don't think spitta wants to be known as the first known artist to work with JD and miserably fail.

Truth.

I'm a day one Spitta fan too, so I remember when he would sound hungry and mad inspired. Especially when he was locked in with Ski during the DD172 days. I think after a while, he just got burned out. Dude was putting out more work than anyone, at one point. And you could hear that he was kinda just going through the motions. His output was crazy, and I think it started affecting the quality of some of his projects.

But he's sounding more motivated with JD, so that's refreshing. Seeing the BTS with them in the studio had me looking forward to this one too. The energy just looked like they were about to cook something dope up. So I think this should get him back in his inspired bag again.

Since dude has so many projects, what would you consider to be his top 5?

NY all day..Da Stead & BK..
Lol would have been nice for him to really challenege himself and put out a dope body of work like Pilot Talk 1 or even Stoned Immaculate though imo. Show a little range then just fun shyt. Not sure they even make a hit out of this but who knows.
He has depth on projects like The OutRiders produced by Harry Fraud.

Personal classic tape for me.

Me too, some of these brehs are tripping. They are naming the obvious projects like Pilot talk, cover coup, stone immaculate like the only quality stuff he releases. I agree, he does drop a lot of duds and so so projects, but he got quality stuff he drops in between them releases.
