I still can't believe we didn't get one music video, tour run or any fan merchandise from this project. I can't really blame gibbs being a lil salty at spitta. After see how meticulous and serious he takes his roll outs and promotion for his projects. Compared spitta we really treats his projects like he says audio dope; just drop it off the product get paid and move on to the next.
Yeah he was excited like drop before the date

I listen to Willie Lloyd on the regular. Honestly I can't really listen to curren$y verses on this shyt, Gibbs murks him on every track
I feel like what makes Currensy and Gibbs special is Currensy accepting the Pippen role and being the support player to Gibbs' MJ. Currensy sets the vibe and the aesthetic on the first verse on almost all of their songs, and then Gibbs comes through in the second verse and really crushes it. Pretty sure they only have one song where Gibbs raps first (The Blow).

I'm not saying you're listening wrong, but the appeal of them has never been that they are 2 lyrical heavyweights or whatever. It's always been about how different their styles are. You wouldn't expect their pairing to go well, and yet it does.

I ran this entire project back today and while curren$y was better than I remember, I can't say I wanted to rewind any of his verses... He's there, he has a few lines that are good but the energy and delivery is just completely lacking and I rather hear him solo. I get what you're saying and I can understand how people would listen to their chemistry that way, but I just don't on this project :yeshrug: I will listen again in the future for sure because ALC laced this something serious but yeah, spitta was forgettable to me and I could think of MANY rappers who probably would have been a better fit for a duo album :yeshrug:

Lol it took me a minute to get to the rest of the album because I kept running that song back.

Had me in my car, commuting to work like :damn:
“Choppa style, chop-chop-choppa style/ shout out to Ghazi Arabic numbers in my Rollie dial/ My girl told me she’ll be faithful if I hold it down/ I’m fukkin these hoes, I want it ALL like I’m an only child…”
