Yup, he's still around though.

Chad just a really out of the way dude. He and Pharrell still cool though. They'll be on the new Timberlake album for sure.

DRAM gonna have the whole crew back.

Justified 2.0? :gladbron:

Your buggin listen to the neptunes before and after chad, when Chad was there the beats were much more melodic and the instrument choices were more varied. When it was just Pharrell the beats turned into more percussion based, because he was a drummer mainly, (but he's still nice on the keys) and you heard heavier bass lines. You heard a lot of those melodies with their N.E.R.D. Albums where they all were back again, seeing sounds is still one of my favorite albums.
That album man.....from top to bottom it was a classic. Yeah You and Love Bomb were my favorites.

Skip to 2:18, pharrell tryna figure out the chord progression to Justin Timberlakes "lets take a ride" but is having trouble.
Chad, after watching silently, comes over and BLESSES the piano almost effortlessly. This is the BEST neptunes production video to me for that moment right there, it shows what TEAMWORK and talent is all about.

To this day i have no clue what justin was tryna do tapping on those keys though:mjlol:

Pharrell is one of the most creative artists out there. He can write, produce, and is a pretty competent rapper. Over the past decade or so, he has blossomed into somewhat of a superstar.

All that said, why is it that he's all of a sudden the only member of The Neptunes?

Granted, Chad took a hiatus, which allowed Pharrell to become the face of The Neptunes, but this is a duo that spent the better part of decade being the most successful production duo this side of Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis. I get people not knowing Chad because he never had the spotlight. What' mind boggling is The Neptunes as a brand, name, or duo aren't even acknowledged anymore. Even when referencing music that BOTH Chad and Pharrell did, Pharrell is always the only one acknowledged. It's not like Chad was some side kick or just some random co-producer. The two of them were a team. All I'm saying is put some respekt on Chad and The Neptunes.
All i wanna know is Why didnt T.I. release some of the Pharrell tracks Pharrell gave him when he had the chance? If you go way back in time, 2009, he had a record called "Show Me Some Love" he never put out but theres a video of him performing it at the time. Few years later he hit the studio with T.I. alledgedly in the Paperwork era aka 2011-2014.

Not only does that include Show Me Some Love Aka Do That but also the original Stir Fry aka Trap nikka, Original Momma Hit A Lick aka Trigger.
