Alleged cult leader known as ‘Nature Boy’ heading to trial on rape charges in DeKalb County
Eligio Bishop, aka "Nature Boy," is also accused of posting "revenge porn" online after the rape occurred, according to the DA's office.

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — Nearly two years after his arrest during a late-night raid, a man accused of being a cult leader and raping a former follower will head to trial this week.
Channel 2 Action News first reported on Eligio Bishop, also known as “Nature Boy,” when he was arrested in April 2022.
Our cameras were there as DeKalb County police officers searched the home off Arbor Chase and arrested Bishop following a three-week investigation. Police charged Bishop with rape, false imprisonment and three counts of prohibition on nude or sexually explicit electronic transmissions.
The trial was scheduled to begin Tuesday but an attorney conflict came up. Jury selection will now begin Wednesday morning.
Neighbors have accused Bishop of running an online cult called “Carbon Nation.”
“Carbon Nation is his cult. He’s been whooping girls, beating girls, fertilizing girls, getting girls ready for marriage,” a female neighbor said, not giving her name.
The DeKalb County District Attorney’s Office says Bishop raped a former follower who tried to leave the cult in March 2022. The DA’s Office says Bishop also posted “revenge porn” online after the victim left the alleged cult.
Channel 2 Action News went by the home in April 2022 where several people claimed to be Bishop’s “disciples.”
“Basically, the police raided us on false accusations,” a disciple by the name of Musa told Channel 2 Action News.

“She said she was here under false imprisonment. We have live documentation of when we said, ‘Hey, if you want to leave, you can leave, nobody is forced to stay here,’” Musa said.
According to a 2017 report from the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, Bishop is a former model, stripper, and barber.
Bishop also has ties to Atlanta dating back to at least 2009, but around 2016, he and his followers moved to first to Central America, then to Honduras, and then to Costa Rica, until they were forced to leave in 2017.
In 2020, reports show Bishop was arrested in Hawaii for breaking COVID-19 quarantine rules. It is not clear when he returned to Atlanta.
Channel 2 Action News will be following the latest in the trial throughout the coming days and weeks.

I personally know at least one person who got caught up in a cult and I can tell you exactly how it works.
Most cult members themselves are every bit as narcissistic as their leaders. The type of people who are so desperate to claim some sense of intellect that gives them a feeling of authority over others, everything around them, and their existence. The type of people who are so narcissistic they dedicate every aspect of their lives to being defiant of norms or consensus. The type of people that just can't be normal, flawed human beings in this complicated world with other normal human beings in this world. They have to be something better than everyone else. They have to be in some preceived position of attained "enlightenment" to stick their nose up at others and call themselves spiritual leadears walking this Earth. You know these types.
It's kind of like black Trump supporters. They admire Trump because he's a narcissist who enables their own sense of narcissistic bigotry, and self centered nihilism about politics and the world.
Except they're the worst type of narcissist. A broke, cowardly one. Deep down they wish they can be the other-worldy intellectual leader, who's awakened to the all world knowledge, privy to everything, and admired by a following. But instead of making an ass of themselves on their own and putting in that work, they rather find a leader "enlightened" narcississt who has the balls to do what they wish they can do and a group to validate their already twisted views.
Cults make more sense when you realize they are first and foremost little social clubs for woefully deranged narcissists who's families can't stand them no more because of their obnoxious need to be seen as a higher than thou god-like being who is never incorrect. Once again, I'm sure you know someone like this.
Oh and another big difference between the cult leader and the cult member is that the cult leader is in on it. He wakes up every morning and decides "what am I gonna say today." He knows everything he's doing is about enriching himself and maintaining power over others rather than advancing. He knows his members are lost little children that just want to feel validated and inspired by someone. He knows himself he is a nutjob who has taken to an abnormal, disgraceful, and possibly illegal life of emotionally and mentally manipulating others in order to live. He knows he's given up a normal and truly fulfilling life for one of a paranoid cult leader just so he can fulfill sex fantasies through borderline abuse. He knows everything he does and tells them is role play fabricated from the top of his head and serves no real purpose than to maintain power. The members actually believe they are smarter 5han the rest of the world and on some higher mission.
Again, cults are just a social club of deluded narcississts to get together and discuss how smarter, healthier, morally superior, and enlightened they are than the rest of the world.
