I didn't say he was mentally ill, but in order for him to have any shot at avoiding relapse or at least an immediate relapse he still needs to be mentally ready to leave rehab and deal with the real world.
And if you have any experience with mental illness either personally or with a friend or family member, many, if not most times, the mental illness is the root cause of addiction. Addiction is just a symptom, so no we don't need to stop using "this mentally ill shyt."
