'Cuckoo Birds are savage as fukk. Stone cold killers at birth.' Make sure you read this thread before watching or else you gonna be lost until about 60 mins in. smh. Then once u understand that there's several things that go unanswered and directionless throughout the movie. however, the movie is entertaining if you leave your brain in between blind belief and empty curiosity.
Jules and Dan Stevens carry the movie, everyone else really buckling under the weight of how wacky everything is. Maybe a rewatch would strengthen the plot but ultimately, it's mid.
Really dope scenes, the setting, the colors, the sets, the performances, but as movie, it's not really very good. Lots of strong elements, but the suspense is done by the 40 minute mark or so, and the rest works as pure shock value, but the fun was kinda gone. The developing tension was excellent though. The first scene with the old woman.
also, would like to see less movies featuring dead or divorced parents, or some kind of heavy sub plot involving children, with dead parents. The trauma plot. Just needs to be a typical teenager. but I guess that was needed here, for some of the plots more convoluted developments. Needed more of what worked, less of what didn't. The guy will probably make a dope third feature.
