If anybody told me when I saw Flow Joe on VideoMusicBox that Fat Joe would still have a rap career in 2021, I would have laughed in their face.

lol word. i remember when he was originally going by joe the fat gangsta. you old like me son so you remember them names. kinda like pudgee the fat b*stard lol

so anyway, this is late '91 same month pac dropped his debut and uncle ralph had pac, omar, and khalil kain getting interviewed in the club talking about this movie named juice that was about to drop. then it cuts away to some big chubby bald head dude named joe the fat gangsta with the camera MAD CLOSE on him doing a 4 minute a capella rhyme and that shyt was absolutely cringe worthy trash

i knew he was DITC & remembered him from the strictly for the ladies video with the applejack hat on. but i was like THIS corny nikka is down with finesse, AG, showbiz, diamond d, and percee p?? and the worst part is i saw that episode probably 7 or 8 times because you remember how uncle ralph used to repeat episodes a lot. then flow joe came & i was like hmmmmm... ok he's still trash to me but the beat is amazing. but to his credit joe kept working on his craft and got better and better. now like you said, joe is more relevant in 2021 than lord finesse the mack the gigolo?? lmao wow. nikka if you told me that back then i would have called you a fukkin liar & bounced off to find a new san jose sharks starter cap to match my sharks starter jacket

Joe didn't blackball him.

Cuban asked for a huge advance, against Joe's advice. Joe wasn't an executive up there. His album was being overseen by Craig Kallman's people. He ran the bill up so crazy trying to pay producers hundreds of thousands of dollars, that he blew his promotional and marketing budget. Trying to get Neptunes beats and shyt. Got himself into wild debt there, and then wanted Joe to bail him out. It took him 5 years in court to settle his debt, and then he went over to Universal and did the same shyt with Swizz. That dude killed his own career.

Damn bro, how do you know this? All I hear is Cuban saying joe lying about giving him a car, and getting him a house in jersey. Cuban said he did it all on his own without Joe’s help and that Joe lying.

he also said he would break bread with joe and give him some of his show money. He said that joe and his people let him get jumped at shows off shyt that joe started.

basically Cuban would jump in and help when joe got into shot at shows, and the one time Cuban got into something they didn’t have his back.
