I don't hate crossfit trainers cause we all got our own philosophy but that shyt is bullshyt. cant train your clients if they fukkingup they body. People struggle keeping their back straight doing overhead press let alone a snatch and clean. Don't do it brehs. They're other ways to strengthen your muscles then saying I did a 1 rep pr but I fukked up my form:hhh::hhh:

went for a month and realised that you're training at semi pro levels to compete at?..real world applications besides cardio vascular are just a whole lot of injuries and possible chronic joint inflammations. You will look amazing but i lack the motivation to do stuuf to my body that really does not make any sense unless i want to compete in crossfit games or tri athlons

Of course it's bullshyt like a lot of the things in fitness training field. Exercising is really about knowing yourself and your limits. Anything that generalizes all people as having the same body type, strength, metabolism, endurance level, stanima, heart condition, underlying issues and etc is automatic bullshyt. Best to come up with your own program and etc instead of listening to some trendy plan that can hurt you. You're better off relying on a doctor.

Think that a lot of this shyt would be best settle going to a therapy to learn how to be secure with one's self instead of relying on somewhere like the gym or fitness. A lot of insecure people use the gym for all the wrong reasons.

Most crossfit ideologies are the antithesis of what you should be doing in excersise from a scientific standpoint.
The only reason why people get cut doing it, is because they brute force it. Not because it is a good program.

Many of their excersizes don't make any sense. I'll point out a few.

3x Power Clean then jumping over the bar 10 times, repeat 10x
BurpMid-sddfkj7skjh.JPG

This is stupid because you are doing a heavy, coordinated lift, and then trying to fit cardio in bewteen.
The problem is you aren't truly focused on the bulk side because you are throwing random cardio in, and you aren't doing enough cardio for it to be consider a cardio workout.

The end result is that you tire yourself out anaerobically, and your lift form suffers. But you don't truly tire yourself enough for it to be considered good cardio.

Here's another one,
Kipping Pullups
giphy.gif

You use the momentum to kill the actual work of the back and biceps.
You rarely ever reach the appropriate pull-up height because you're afraid of smashing your teeth into the bar
You use your legs to ease the work of the muscles that you are actually trying to work and end up only working your forearms
You look like a damn fool

Take all that passion and drive and apply it to real scientific workouts and they would be amazing.

But these people seem to respond better to dumbshyt :mjlol:

I mean I didn't even mention the infamous "Crossfit Deadlifts"

Yoga been around for centuries man... it has physical and mental benefits... some even gain spiritual benefits from it...

Put it to you like this... yoga is so beneficial that white folks had to steal it and make it their own....

Have something to say about this. There's the people that do yoga for genuine reasons and there's the people that do it because it's trendy. The same folks probably are doing crossfit because it's trendy.. it then goes on to bigger implication in life on some monkey see, monkey do shyt.

Think that it's best to say that any grown adult that does shyt like this to be cool, trendy or feel superior has issues and are better off talking to a therapist because on the low they are crying out for help. Might be depressed or having some self hatred issues.

it's crazy seeing how so many adults in this generation are so desperate to fit in and be cool like they are still kids. Like folks don't even want to be themselves for real. Anybody that knows the drill knows that trying to fit in or being cool is a quick road to a whole lot of problems. Plenty of folks have fukked themselves up trying to fit in and be cool. It's not worth it.

because hopefully people dont read your post and then take it as gospel. Hopefully they see my post and do a little bit of research...

I dont care what youtube video you post... I dont listen to what people say, I read about the systems of the human body, and functional biomechanics and then I make a decision on what is and isn't good for the body.

I have 2 PT certs and an Oly Lifting Coach cert that I got for FUN.

I dont need to prove anything. I just know your giving the typical anti crossfit response that doesnt tell the full story.

The average person should not be doing cross fit, however, the science behind cross fit is sound, if executed correctly with a good coach and programmer. Obviously coaching talent and skill level varies from Box to box.

First off

WTF is a "cross fit deadlift", that isn't a thing. There is a such thing as doing deadlifts with bad form, but that can happen anywhere...

Kipping Pull ups is a different modality of one exercises. It is possible to include kipping pull ups in your program and still do regular pull ups for a different modality or result. Thats what periodizing a program involves. You can do different versions of the same exercises for varying results... There is a benefit to kipping pullups and the shyt isn't easy to do, which is why I laugh at folks who trash it.

That power clean and jump over the bar shyt isnt dont on the first day. You build a program that eventually lets you get to that cardio level.

Like I said, the average person shouldnt do cross fit, the like the average person shouldnt be a gymnast or a boxer, but the science behind the programming, has function...

The reason why bad deadlift form is often associated with Crossfit is because you have many many many sanctioned crossfit events where the top crossfit athletes are completing these exercises with horrendous form.

Do you watch the Crossfit games? If not, you should. It will make your stomach crawl as a PT. This is the official sporting event of Crossfit, and this is the showcase that they are putting on for the world to see, and all you see is horrible horrible form and injury inducing weights that honestly seem like the purpose is just to destroy their bodies. These are the TOP athletes from the TOP gyms in the sport and their deadlift form looks like they just picked up weight training yesterday. I'm not implying they dont know how to deadlift, i'm implying good form is not stressed so even have the top athletes in your sport looking like a scared cat with their back hunched over

I've done Crossfit out of a gym in Irving, TX, which is why I have issues with it. Do you know when they showed us the Kipping pullup? Day 1. And they specifically demonstrated it to us as a replacement for regular pullups.

If you watched the video I posted (as I recommended) you would see that Jeff Cavaliere's main issue with Crossfit is the coaches and how they do not seem to adhere to good standards. Many Crossfit gyms across America have this issue, my experience was not an isolated event. A quick search on a Crossfit forum or even youtube could show you that if you are interested in actually researching it.

Regardless of whether or not you care to acknowledge it, there are many unhealthy and ill-informed exercise trends and practices that are rampant inside of Crossfit. To deny it is just to be naive.

I mean damn, one look at Dave Castro teaching tells you all you need to know about the standards of Crossfit coaching

I've watched CrossFit and other similar competitions. It's a good way to get injured. Doing snatches with heavy weight. Think about Olympic weight lifting, you go for your best one-rep max, if you don't make it, you throw the weight down. Crossfit, you are doing multiple snatches.
