In the game of chess, a “stalemate” occurs when the player whose turn it is to move is neither in check, nor capable of moving legally; when this happens, the match ends in a draw. Men and women in modern society are at a similar impasse. Many people on both sides are looking to achieve much of the same goals romantically. However, egos, expectations and deep-rooted issues often get in the way, causing disillusionment in the process.
Stalemate is a ruminating look at this dynamic as it pertains to dating and relationships. In this book, The author applies economic and psychological theories and principles to make sense of the dynamic, explaining how it was, is, will be and how to navigate it.
Upon reading this book, you will develop a better understanding of your own thoughts, feelings and that of your partner. It is with this perspective that you may then learn how to brush aside your own ego and bypass the contests that we refer to as dating these days, in an effort to form and sustain healthier relationships.
