It was OK, felt like more fukkery could have been mined from the concept but overall the movie was perfectly fine.

This is how I felt. It also would have helped towards the ending.
It sorta just ends because every threat is just any alligator, and she already escaped them many times so getting away from the last one didn't feel like that big a deal. They should have gone for the good ol' trope where there is one super variant of the gators who is bigger, stronger and meaner than all the other gators who serves as the end boss.

It seems like the type of movie four or five unrelated direct-to-dvd sequels will be made from down the road 
Movie was pretty intense. Not sure what yall expected from the ending though lol this isnt a supernatural flick
personally, thought maybe
maybe show'em getting into the chopper at least, then fly off on some cheesy shyt...I mean it just ends abruptly with that flare shyt

I mean there was no follow-through on any of the plot points they introduced in the first ten minutes, no flash forward to Haley at a swim meet, her dad fixing up and keeping the house, her mom and dad reconciling, etc. shyt, for all we know they never made it off the roof

I was hoping it would have been something like a gator farm near the family's home that got washed out and thise gators (including one extra large one that was the main attraction) were what the characters were dealing with. Just having it be regulsr random alligators lessened the storyline interest for me.

When she drives to her old home she passes a sign on the road that says there's an alligator farm, but other than giving extra excuse as why there are gators there right away, they don't build on it whatsoever. That really could've covered some extra ground (introducing the big poppa gator like you said, and have additional characters in the movie who are not so obviously red shirts).
