Modern country music has been infused with pop since at least the '90s, and with elements of Hip Hop since the mid 2000s. That's partly why the purists are mad.

What I will say if this album pushes Black folks to start digging into country, it's a job well done. We got too much skin equity in the game of American music to be relegated to just Rap and R&B.
