Covid killed her husband. Now it’s taking the only home her kids have ever known.

the incentive to find a "sponsor" quickly would be very high for a woman who has 3 kids, makes just above minimum wage and probably has no marketable skills.
That is definitely true, but in the article it said the in-laws bought a starter house for her and the dead husband (I believe they had to make the payments though). She couldn't lean on them for a while instead of shacking up with a new MF'er?

Did the husband not have life insurance? I’m not saying that’s the ultimate answer here but have a contingency plan, especially if you have kids.

The alarm company Alan worked for had sent a $42,000 life insurance check. The money had helped Lisa and the boys survive the past 10 months. To sell the house, Lisa had used $7,500 to replace the roof, plus $2,700 on the sink hole.

This is what happens when nikkas standards begin and end with 'she cute and doesn't make me angry'. If he had chosen a woman who had similar education and qualifications, she'd handle business while he's gone, maybe even reinvest some of his assets that he died with for a college fund for the kids instead of hopping straight to the next man.

If youre going to get married, you owe it to yourself and your kids to choose an intelligent well paid woman who complements your income and can handle business when you ain't around.

they were on equal footing when they met...

The two had met while working at Branson’s biggest amusement park. Alan worked at the Powder Keg roller coaster. Lisa worked in a tourist shop.
Alan eventually worked his way up to a $40,000-a-year job at an alarm company and planned to launch his own business installing fire alarms. Lisa wanted to go back to school to become a therapist.

They would save up and buy a better home. Move beyond Branson and its low-paying, tourism-dependent jobs, to a city with better prospects for their boys.

Instead, 10 years later, here Lisa was, walking through the house, taking apart that future piece by piece.

Accountant is a good job though. She knows what she is doing.

It has been 9 months. :manny:

I guarantee you for every 1 of these white family stories there is going to at least 10 black family stories like this that go unreported. shyt is sad..

anybody who loses a spouse after a long hospital stay is facing a huge hospital bill whether they have insurance or not.

she lost her husband to covid and her gofundme aint doing to well.

Another side effect of people given the “freedom” to make bad decisions. Now shes a widow and the child is an orphan. Ultimately society will have to pay for all these new orphans and widows.

America is crashing.

Very few Americans have life insurance.

The free vaccine could have this woman from financial ruin. It’s ridiculous

I'll shoot them some bail. I think he died before the vaccine was available.

It's sad that this family is suffering, but situations like this is one of many reasons why it isn't financially feasible for a family to rely on one income.

I am sure this woman is going to be on the county, get section 8 and all that jazz..

Gotta move on with life despite the obstacles that is set for them...

I am sure someone is going to set up a gofundme for her and she definitely going to receive state/govt assistance.

Now, this woman is going to have to hustle and if push comes to shove, she may want to hop on farmersonly.com and get her profile crackin until she can find a suitable hick that will take care of her and her kids.

I am sure rough times are ahead for this family, but they will make it..
