What happened to the door to door vaccinations? I bet you could get a decent amount of people that way for those who don’t want to go inside a facility or don’t have transportation.

Coming soon to a town near you. The alarm should be going off because our winter is right around the corner.

Clickbait headlines: here is the gist of the article

WHO emergency director Mike Ryan said that some European countries have "sub-optimal vaccination coverage" despite availability. "It's a warning shot for the world to see what is happening in Europe despite availability of vaccination," Ryan told a news conference.

He can find every reason in the book to dismiss the best information we have if it goes against his current agenda, then pushes barely supported bullshyt when it confirms whatever he's currently on.

That "16%" number for Israel is almost completely meaningless. There wasn't any reasonable control at all, there wasn't any systematic testing, a huge % of that population was elderly immunocompromised, the January numbers don't align with the February/March numbers or with any other nation, and the #'s weren't reflected in serious illness or ICU.

And then calling it "Orwellian" to distinguish between minor symptoms and serious illness. :mjlol:

caught up yet? have you had your booster :russ:?

ahhhh winter ... and the power of time ... :wow:

just on my way back to germany .. German COVID-19 cases hit daily record as health ministers meet

Homie could you make a conscious effort to be less weird when you quote me?

Say what the fukk you're trying to say. Don't be shy.

Fred.

:salute:

Did you miss the effect that warmer weather last summer had on covid numbers.

Surely that experience means that we need to factor that into discussions and conclusions.

Like the British govt has done when considering this topic just this past week.

"Prof Chris Whitty, the government’s chief medical adviser, said he expected a further Covid surge in the autumn or winter"
UK Covid: Whitty says he expects further surge in winter; more than 11,000 new cases recorded – as it happened

"The virus thrives in lower temperatures and very high or very low relative humidity. "
Meat plants—a new front line in the covid-19 pandemic

etc

recognise that pattern. note the seasons.

anyway me nah argue about covid basics anymore so I have said too much already.

sorry about that.

**note to self** more self control

"weird" :mjlol: if i told you what was really weird you wouldn't like it.

oh and about israel's "dodgy data" and can I assume that the global vaccine attenuation consensus that has been reached has not escaped your notice.

also some more of them hottakes ...

What is this prediction based on?

People said the same thing about the first variant from India and it did absolutely nothing when it got here.

I say all that to say this....you cats keep pushing back "when things will get bad" to some nebulous point in the future. First it was when the double mutant touched down. Now it's "in the fall". In the fall it'll be in the winter. Doesn't this get exhausting?

Fred.

:mjlol:

yeah it was exhausting but I guess everything is settled now ...

When effective therapeutics come to market, it will be a game changer. I think the patient population in this study ended up a lot smaller than was originally intended though. Will be interested to see how this progresses as well as Merck’s antiviral

No sharing of Florida having the lowest cases per capita in the country :jbhmm:

On a separate note. Moderna is hurting. Stock down 40% from all time high since the vaccine rush slow down

Anti Vaxxers holding on for as long as possible and not enough folks running out for boosters that cost the government $10 a pop I’m guessing
