For those in NY, I want to share my experience with asking for a test.

Step 1 Call 1-888-364-3065 which is the NYS hotline. They will ask you questions like have you been around someone who has it, symptoms, etcSome. Then they will schedule a call back. They say it can be tomorrow or 2 weeks so not much guidance there.
Step 2 Someone calls you back. It took 2 days for someone too call back. They will schedule a date and time for you and the appointments can be same day or a 2 day window from what the representative told me. They will give you an appointment ID and you have to bring your state id and for drive through, you have to drive yourself or someone in the same household. I did this for my mom and she's in brooklyn and she's assigned to the Staten Island location.

The representative told me it takes 7 days to get results.

All in all, it was a positive experience, but I wish the testing results can be earlier than 7 days.

Has the NYT posted anything positive regarding measures that would open up the country sooner than later?

Maybe it's just the doom-and-gloom posters only sharing these types of articles here, skewing their reporting... but gotdamn these shyts seem to confer zero hope and positive insight which is ridiculous. :stopitslime:
