At the heart of all the people's thinking that refuse the vaccination is it won't happen to me.

That's why we see all these anti-vaxxers on their deathbeds in hospitals saying "get vaccinated" that's why we see all these unvaccinated people with COVID saying "get vaccinated" ultimately none of these people really came to terms with the fact that it could happen to them. They gamble on it not happening to them and lose then instantly wish they took the other option.

I can't even imagine what it must feel like laying in a hospital bed for weeks dying knowing they had a proven vaccine you refused to what's killing you and you turned it down because you feared the kitten more than you feared the lion.

Well looking at the numbers it's not happening to my demographic in enough numbers for me to be petrified enough to get a vax. Yea it could happen anyway but I'm willing to take that risk given my medical history

There is something seriously wrong with the level of discourse and debate on this forum. Part of it is an education issue. But the bigger issue is that this forum is full of people who don't read, don't know how to actually engage in debate, and spend most of their "learning" time watching low budget youtube videos made by conspiracy peddlers, con-men, and agitators. And every time a debate comes up, these people saturate the forum with the buzzwords they've learned (c00n, bedbuck, butter biscuits, etc). This is the same type of radicalization we see from white men in the alt right, who spurn actual learning in order to obsess over youtube videos that poison their comprehension skills and turn everything into an us vs them dynamic. It's the same bullshyt.

Realistic speaking an unvaccinated person will have a highly likelihood of contacting COVID in 4 years of spread.

I really wish I understood why people have such a fear of vaccination but don’t share that same fear of COVID. It’s like being afraid of Yorkie dogs but looking at Rottweilers and showing no fear.

It has a 99% survival rate and mostly only gas bad effects on the elderly and obese. Young healthy people catch it and have to stay home sick for two weeks. I'd hardly call this a Rottweiler

It's not a near death experience for the vast majority folks despite y'all bringing up the ventilator argument every time

I know people who have had covid(all under the age of 35) and still don't plan on getting vaccinated it is what it is.

Mayor de Blasio overhauls COVID quarantine rules at NYC schools, citing data from first week of classes

In a big change to its COVID-19 safety policies for public schools, New York City will no longer require unvaccinated students to isolate at home after sharing a classroom with an infected peer — as long as both students wore masks and maintained three feet of distance during the exposure, officials said Monday.

The change, which takes effect Sept. 27, overrides the city’s previous policy of requiring unvaccinated kids — including all elementary-schoolers — to quarantine for 10 days if someone in their class tested positive for the virus.

The change in quarantine policy will also coincide with a move to double the amount of random COVID-19 testing in city schools. Starting Sept. 27, city officials will offer testing every week at all elementary, middle and high schools — doubling the rate of testing in its current plan, which offers COVID-19 tests every other week.
