Yup.

Oxford project is saying there might not be enough sick people in the UK. It seems odd to me to not work and test in other countries if UK tests are not possible.

Coronavirus 'disappearing' so fast Oxford vaccine has 'only 50% chance of working'

Professor Adrian Hill describes the efforts to create a vaccine as a "race against the virus disappearing, and against time".

Well they better find a way cuz if a 2nd wave hits the UK..... :francis:

He thinks young and able people should shelter in place for months/years and let their whole lives crumble while 40% of the deaths nationally have been in nursing homes. It’s been almost 3 months. Some folks have had enough and are choosing to try and live with a virus rather than let their careers and businesses die. He, and anyone else who chooses, are still free to stay home. Take precautions. Life goes on. If some guy has ran Joes pizza shack in new haven Connecticut for 30 years and wants to be open And see if he can make it rather than lose his business, why shouldn’t it be open? Because New York City sent covid cases to nursing homes and deaths and hospitalizations spiraled out of control 2 months ago? He’d rather deal with covid than face starting over. His opinion doesn’t matter, only the folks that want to lock things down for months and months on end opinion matters? Let him open up, and if enough folks are too hesitant to go and patronize his joint, he has to close. He at least got a fair shake, rather than just being told to close up shop if there wasn’t even a spike in his area. What’s the endgame to just shutting shyt down for the year? You simply have to get back to some semblance of life, and infuse some day to day Hygienic alterations and learn to live with the virus. Because it ain’t going away, and life has to go on for the 99% of society at some point. Wear a mask. Utilize home deliveries. Stay home if you want. Stay away from others. Stay away from indoor gatherings. Don’t travel. . Stay away from older friends and family. Work out. Eat healthy. Lose weight. Lower your blood pressure and blood sugar. Do some cardio. Sleep well. Take vitamins. You can do all of that yourself without it being mandated

I'm not ashamed to admit that all of this is above my pay grade and that I don't know what the solution is. It feels as if everyone's philosophy on how to handle this puts the other side in jeopardy. I see a nation of people who are all looking at each other like they're stupid and that their views are dangerous in regards to how this is going to impact us. It's fascinating.

Think we should close down and want to shelter in place? There's people out here attending pool parties and clubs with no care in the world while refusing to wear masks and at some point you'll have some contact with these people. People are treating a pandemic like a joke and you're seeing people relax their hygienic standards just getting comfortable. I had to pick up my computer from the shop recently and I had to remind the clerk to wipe down the counter before we interacted. It was standard for them to wipe down the counter after each interaction. As time goes by you're seeing people become more and more lax in regards to sanitizing everything. It's human nature.

Also, I'm willing to bet there are some white Trump supporters who are refusing to wash their hands on purpose. It's hard not to believe that people going about life as if we're not in a pandemic aren't putting everyone's lives in jeopardy.

Think we should open up and get back to work to maintain our economy? Many people don't feel safe enough to go to work, would rather collect unemployment, don't want to patronize restaurants, bars, clubs, etc. Everyone deserves a fair shake in regards to having the ability to make money and feed their family. The girl who does my hair has continued to do hair throughout this whole lockdown period, going house to house. If the government isn't going to cut her a check, who are we to say she can't work. My barbershop closed during the lockdown period but the owner said he hasn't been able to receive any funding and is getting back to work in June. Also, Republicans want everyone want to get back to work but where are the jobs? The next stimulus bill is without a doubt going to have liability protection for businesses so people can't sue their company for making them risk their lives to make money. It's just fukked up all around. It just feels like a tug of war and it doesn't help that we don't have competent leadership.

I just know I'll personally be trying to ride this out and staying at a distance for the next year. I told my uncle the other day, I'm b

I do think we're getting second wave and it's going to be really bad given how people are relaxing this summer.

yup i've been noticing as well i see less and less people wearing masks but more and more people outside now. People just think this went away or its not as serious. Most countries/cities have been locked down for more than 2 months now and yet ish is still spreading like a Australian wildfire still

This reminds me of a verse in the bible where even after all the calamities and destruction God still gave people a chance to repent but yet they returned to their wicked ways.

People keep forgetting that everytime you use a mask, you have to disinfect/wash it every time I you're done wearing it for the day lol. As soon as I get home I immediately toss it in the laundry room to wash
