No one is "hoping" for a second wave. There's overwhelming evidence that points to the fact that we will have one, however.
Let this sink in. The US is approaching 1 million cases. Almost 1/3 of all known cases in the world. It also has a quarter of all known deaths in the world.

This shouldn’t be a surprise. We have more people in dense environments than a lot of countries.
We also deal with more people who come here for tourism than anywhere else along immigrants who travel in and out of the country more than anywhere else. Throw in the biggest subway system in the entire world that happens to be a gateway for 5 other states and you have the perfect explanation. NYC and NJ, home of the overwhelming bulk of cases, were in the eye of the perfect storm.
We completely botched the initial outbreak with limited access to testing, and China is playing with their numbers.
Still not enough testing. North America is pathetic. All leadership knows is how to squeeze every ounce of work out of the people. When it comes to protecting the , they’re grossly incompetent. We gotta hold their feet to the fire for this.
