No. It's not supposed to be prescribed period. A lot of people recover from Corona just by taking some home remedies. Why don't we just take them instead? Some people get over the virus by drinking water and tea. Why don't we push for that? Some people never even require oxygen.
So, Trump is wrong for pushing a drug he is invested in. That should deserve an investigation in itself
I wouldn’t count on NFL playing this season.
Trivial compared to what many are going through but would be heartbreaking to me as will losing the NBA playoffs.....
It's really not that bad. My mom has been using it for over a decade and has not dealt with any of the major side effects. Itching, hair loss and nausea were the three main ones she suffered from.
Even if one person had cardiac arrest, they would have to list that as a side effect, even though its 1 out of 10 million. I'm sure you knew that but I am also sure some people reading this do not. So, don't be fearful of the side effects. If the drug truly works, take it if its given to you.
Novartis is not going to apply for indication because it costs money and time to run a clinical trial, they're more then happy to have Doctors write it off label. And it's just a treatment not a cure, hopefully it will be replaced by an actual vaccine. So why pour money into a temporary solution
Breh look at almost any drugs side effect profile, shyts par for the course. We just need people to understand that your Doctor should be the one prescribing it, don't start taking it like it's Advil or some shyt
your mom has a condition that welcomes the drug profile and chemical components. If somebody with no need for the drug starts taking it, it can rightfully kill them. There are plenty of people that died in Italy and they were taking it. Also you are wrong about 1 in 10 million dying of cardiac arrest and they still list it. When those things happen, we have to collect the data and look at medical history and comorbidities.
No, I would tell anybody in here not to listen to those smart dumb talks in here. Do not take the drug. There is no proof it works. If it worked, Novartis would have had it approved already. They never applied for the approval, because then they would be liable to lawsuits. They let the physicians make the choice because then, they can say that is on the physician.
All I can do right now is speak to second hand experience from someone who has used the drug for over 10 years. This is a very old drug that has a lot of new opinions on it (not necessarily from people in the know) due to it being in the spotlight. So I maintain that, if it truly works, and if given to you (by professionals), take it. I have not and will not act as an authority on the drug. I will only encourage people to use it once it is learned that it truly works, just as I've been saying in this thread for weeks.
As for my mom welcoming the drug profile and chemical components vs someone with no need, do you have any literature on that? This is pertinent information for someone with lupus. So if you have that, I need that.
Also, to the people that died in Italy. How many is plenty? Was it due to overdose? Was it hydroxychloroquine or chloroquine phosphate (major confusion from what I've noticed)? Were the deaths directly attributed to taking the drug?
With regard to cardiac arrest, I'm not sure if we are misreading each other. I said that to ease fears for anyone who would go on WebMD or any other website to check on the side effects of hydroxychloroquine. I understand that some people will just look at what is listed and won't look as to why it is listed. So they may see, for example, cardiac arrest as a side effect. However, only one case since the drug was introduced may have occurred. Yet, it still has to be listed, no matter how unlikely.
I'll say that again using a different side effect before someone harps on cardiac arrest..
So they may see, for example, erectile dysfunction as a side effect. However, only one case since the drug was introduced may have occurred. Yet, it still has to be listed, no matter how unlikely.
Hey, guess what, black people get to test out if Trump is right about hydroxy chloroquine! Pence announces U.S. trial of anti-malaria drug hydroxychloroquine for coronavirus cases
Highlights for the non readers
1. Vice President Mike Pence told a news briefing Sunday that hydroxychloroquine will be used in a 3,000-person study at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit to test the effectiveness of the anti-malarial drug in treating novel coronavirus patients.
2. The trial will be "the first major, definitive study in healthcare workers and first responders of hydroxychloroquine as a preventative medication," noted study organizer William O'Neill, an interventional cardiologist and researcher with Henry Ford Health System, in a statement.
So, black Doctors, Nurses, and first responders will be the guinea pigs to see if the President is right
