The crack era destroyed a whole generation of black folk...there are still black men and black women in prison for having a red top on them or a bag of weed. Cops treated them like animals.

Meanwhile white heroin addicts are humanized, sympathized with, given treatment and not given judgement. And most importantly, they are given second, third, fourth, fifth, and sixth chances.

All of this is true but we also dehumanize our own when it comes to drug addiction. We are far harder on Black addicts than White people are on white addicts.
