Don't they do the same for the Marines? I heard they don't want highly intelligent people in the Marines because they'll be more prone to question authority. Sounds like the same principle applies for the police.
I am sure this makes people getting a degree in Justice Studies or Police Foundations feel really good about their career choice.
Also, I am sure the work is boring after awhile for high IQ people, but wouldn't the wage keep them around? The salary for cops in Canada is pretty good.
