  1. Case - NZXT Phantom PHAN-001RD
  2. PSU - Thermaltake 750W
  3. Motherboard - Biostar A870U3 AM3 AMD 870 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX
  4. CPU - AMD Phenom II X4 925 Deneb 2.8GHz Socket AM3 95W Quad-Core
  5. GPU - XFX HD-567X-ZNF3 Radeon HD 5670 1GB 128-bit DDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support
  6. RAM - Kingston HyperX 4GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 Desktop Memory
  7. SSD - Crucial M4 64GB
  8. HDD - WD Caviar Blue 500GB
  9. BD Player - ASUS
So far, it powers on, I can get to the BIOS and all that, but it won't let me load Windows from a USB drive onto a hard drive, because it can't find any hard drives. I have them plugged into the SATA ports, not sure if there's a specific order I need to follow. I originally had the two drives powered by the same cable that came with the PSU, the first port going into the HDD and the third port going into the SSD. Disconnected the third one and it still didn't work. Doesn't look like BIOS recognizes the hard drives either. What to do? I didn't even plug in the Bluray player because I don't have a spare SATA cable.

Another problem is the fans. Not sure how to get them to work. Most of cables for the fans are loose, as the mobo had one port that said fans. I just plugged one of them randomly into it, but none of the fans work. How am I supposed to get them to work?

Might be the power supply...I think the BIOS is powered by battery, if you have a spare one try to power something in you new case with it, like maybe the fans...if you can power the fans with you power supply, the prob might be the motherboard

1. RULE OUT THE CABLES FIRST. MAKE SURE THEY WORK. PLUG UP THE BLU RAY DRIVE AND SEE IF IT RECOGNIZES IT.

2. CHECK TO MAKE SURE THE DRIVES ARE SPINNING UP WHEN YOU BOOT THE COMPUTER. IF THEY DON'T THEN IT IS A POWER ISSUE. TAKE THE POWER SUPPLY TO A LOCAL SHOP AND SEE IF THEY WILL LET YOU USE THEIR WORKBENCH TO TEST THE POWER SUPPLY.(IF YOU DON'T HAVE THE TOOLS)

3. TOSS THE DRIVES IN WORKING COMPUTER AND SEE IF THEY WORK.

4. DOWNLOAD SOME fukkING RAM BREH.

PROBABLY THE BOARD IF NONE OF THAT WORKS. ELIMINATE THE EASIEST STUFF FIRST. YOU DON'T WANT TO BUY A NEW DRIVE WHEN IT WAS JUST A BAD CABLE.

THE BATTERY POWERS THE MEMORY WHERE THE BIOS SETTINGS ARE STORED WHEN THE COMPUTER IS TURNED OFF.

IF YOU CAN TAKE A PIC OF YOUR MOBO WITH THE SATA CONNECTORS PLUGGED IN. I DON'T REMEMBER IF IT MATTERS IF YOU SHOULD FILL SATA1 BEFORE USING SATA2. YOU BOARD HAS 2 ROWS OF SATA CONNECTORS. SHOULD LOOK LIKE THIS:

[SATA1] [SATA3]
[SATA2] [SATA4]
........... [SATA5]
........... [SATA6]

FILL THEM IN THAT ORDER AND LET ME KNOW.

Lmao, I accidentally pulled the power cable loose from the PSU. It's working now.

Now I still need to figure out the fans, I can't plug them all in, how do I get them all to work? shyt, how do I get one to work?

Also, does it matter what order my hard drives are plugged in? My HDD is 1 and my SSD is 3 so far. I'm installing Windows currently but no problems so far.

They should be labeled on the mother board where the fans go.
If you have the bigger connections for fans they will run to your mother board.

what kind of connections do the fans have? and are you sure the mobo doesn't have more spots to connect? I have my cpu fan plugged into the mobo, but all my other fans go straight to the PSU (via molex adapter). my mobo has connections for the fans, but I prefer them to be at full power all the time

I only see one port on the motherboard for a fan. They connect with three tiny pins.

Now, I removed the sata cable from the HDD and plugged it into the blu ray drive, and it tells me to insert boot media or select proper boot device although it detects my SSD and that's what I just installed Windows on. when I insert my USB drive that has a windows usb/dvd tool on it, I can't even select my SSD drive as a boot device (only options are USB and BD drive).

I unplugged the power from the HDD and SSD, and then plugged the SSD into the first port on the power cord, but that didn't make a difference.

So I got it to boot from the SSD by plugging the HDD back in, even though it still doesn't recognize the HDD.

for your fans, im guessing you need a 3 pin to 4 pin

so you can boot as your ssd as your main drive? that suggest to me a loose wiring or issue with the harddrive. try reformatting the hard drive

on a related note, i built a pc 2 weeks ago and i was stuck for 3 hours figuring out why my computer wont display even though everything seemed to power up (judging by the fans), turned out my hdmi output tip was broken

what exactly does that connection say? that's probably for the cpu fan

the other fans will probably go straight to the psu (through a molex adapter). did the fans come with the case? and does it have instructions and/or adapters?

edit: looking at the picture of that mobo you should have one connection for the "cpu fan" and one for the "sys fan". if you're gonna be gaming I would just hook all the fans, except the cpu fan, straight to the psu (you can hook the cpu fan straight to the psu as well, it'll just make your shyt constantly loud)
