This is all just marketing. I wish more people "got" this. Country fans don't REALLY care about this shyt. Look at Lil Nas' recent shows and its all white people having a good ol' honky tonk time. The whole "they don't like me. They're mad I infiltrated" narrative is what pushed his record to number 1 and made him go viral. He's just keeping that story going because it gets more attention to whatever he's pushing.

I didn’t look @ it this way til I listened to a joe budden podcast...very rarely do I listen to that shyt for anything else other than jokes but they also know their shyt when it comes to music...and in hindsight everything seems fabricated from him rising up the country charts to being taken off...then having billy ray cyrus “validate” the song which gets it “back” on the music charts...if anything I’d actually be surprised if this didn’t win a country grammy

i will say im worried about him music/career wise. this song was a fluke..he really was just fukking around(excuse my language)
