Could you have seen William Regal as a top heel in the 90’s?

He was a midcard mainstay in WCW, but I don’t see why he couldn’t have been in a top heel either in WCW or WWF.

He was a great technical wrestler, he could talk and draw heat and he was not a “vanilla midget.”

His gimmick was not forward enough to create the convincability then.

Now if he was used like say where daniels gimmick was lifted.
Or supposed to be for like the higher power instead of vince. I could see him being plugged into that with high quality and succeeding where vkm failed.

I thought WCW tried pushing him as a top heel at one point when they had Regal doing Best of 5 matches with Flair and pimp slappin' Sting on national television
Flair and Vader were the top heels the whole time until Giant then the NWO. And you could forget about Hoegan ever working with a technical wrestler like him. He would rather wrestle Brutus Beefcake at Starrcade.

Like someone said he would’ve had a better shot in the WWF if given the proper push. He could’ve worked good matches as a heel against HBK, Hitman, Rock or Austin.
