Between the fatigue and adrenaline, I'd probably shoot about 40%

This
Plus with the added pressure of those shots actually counting for something.
Practice/scrimmage performance doesn't always translate over to the actual game.

Field goal kickers hitting from 60+
Boxers hitting combinations and other tactics
Pitchers hitting spots with pitches

They could do that shyt all day during practice.
But during a live game dudes fukk up.

I don't even shoot consistent enough in rec league ball :to:

Then add in 18,000 people yelling, trying to make you miss, nah

There's no excuses for what guys like DeAndre Jordan are doing at the line but shooting free throws in games is a lot different than getting a basketball in an open gym and just standing at the line and shooting them over and over again. If you really want to know how well you shoot free throws, run end to end 5 times, take 2 shots, run end to end 5 more times, take 2 shots, etc. That is a lot more indicative of your free throw percentage than just standing at the line for 10 consecutive shots and relying on muscle memory.

That would require me to get playing time first! I'd be the 18th person on the bench, they would put the people in the stands in the game before me :snoop:

what is funny is,..freethrow shooting is every attempt.
it isn't some automatic skill where you walk up and drain them during the game.

it is a definate routine and bending you knees slightly , before every shot attempt is part of that routine.

Most people don't bend their knees when they shoot. They figure they can just use their upper body strength to muscle the ball in. Doesn't work like that. Not to mention they don't follow through all the way.
