it's not so much that politicians are trying to win over Jewish voters.
they are trying to get money from Israeli lobbyist to finance their next campaign. if they don't fall in line then the money they would have gotten is uses against them instead.

There are a few really powerful Jews in America, and unlike most ethnic groups in the states. They don't sell each other out. The help out their own first, and give back to their communities.
that's why they have so much influence. They really don't have much in the way of numbers, but they have a disproportionate amount of power and money (in the political scene) because of their strong communal ties And that's what counts.
