superhero movies are here to stay, because comic books are popular

ever since superman was made in the 70's, which was a success, followed by batman which lead to spawn in the 90's and Blade to X-men in 2000's, it's been 15 years since the first X-Men movie came out, and Hugh Jackmon is still playing wolverine

comic stans are like eminem stans, they are a glutton for punishment, no matter how bad the movies get they will keep coming back for more abuse, the x-men franchise is proof that because those movies are horrendous, probably the worst superhero franchise quality wise but still successful

You got it backwards. Comic book sales been down for years.

Comic stans are the type of people to say "Days Of Future Past" sucks because it didn't follow the 80's story line. The reason all these movies are blowing up is because they crossed over to people that aren't comic stans. These movies are just movies now....nobody going to see "Guardians Of The Galaxy" ever read the comic, trust me.

And once you cross over to the main stream quality matters less. That's just how it is.

comic book sales are down for the same reason magazine sells are down

but the characters are popular, x-men cartoon is more popular than the comic book and it what most people got introduced to the x-men

batman superman, spider-man, shyt like that will always be made

guardians of the galaxy is just by product of the marvel machine

There was Superman movies in the 70's and 80's, Batman movies in the 80's and 90's....certain characters will always be popular but I feel like we're talking about two different things. Before it was just Superman, Spider-Man, or Batman. Now you got D-list teams like "Guardians Of The Galaxy" doing $700 mill. The current trend of....what was it....20 comic movies dropping in the next 5 years....is relatively new, due to the entire genre crossing over into the mainstream.

Breh somebody just made a thread asking who Vision is when he's been in half the promo for "Age Of Ultron".

If you seen "Avengers" in theaters you know shortly after the premiere Thanos was all over social media....even trending on Twitter. How many of those people do you think knew who he was, prior to someone explaining it to them?

The average person going to see these movies has no concept of the comics, or cartoons. They're going to see them because it's all a part of pop culture now.

Maybe around the time of the first "X-Men" the cartoons or comics played a role....but now they're a franchise, same as "Fast And The Furious". It's just another movie to go see....people sitting there on a Friday night ain't like "let's go see a comic movie"....they're simply movies now.

Besides the guardians of galaxy, people know what the superhero movie is and what isn't, and that's like the only d listers

x-men has always been mainstream, and so has spider-man, and these are like the only other superhero franchises outside of batman and superman

I never read a blade comic in my life, but I knew he was a comic book character just because it said marvel in the credits

Guardians of the Galaxy did numbers because it's LINKED IN with the avengers and the other marvel movies, so to understand the complete story you have to go to see that movie, it's part of their business model

In the 90's the had the Shadow and the Phantom, trying to cash in on superhero shyt

the shyt been here for decades, it's never going anywhere, especially since the sci-fi genre has taking a complete nose dive
