Could Mike Tyson have ever fought at a division below heavyweight?

Mike Tyson was listed at 5'10 or so for his career.

In the last 40 years or so, that's pretty short for a heavyweight fighter.

Even Joe Louis was 6'2.
Marciano was 5'11 but wasn't he like 190 lbs?

Mike usually fought around 218-220 pounds and I get that no fighter can just drop 25 that easily. But given his height, if he were say...a cruiserweight/light heavyweight fighter...would anyone have ever stood in his way?

Or would he never have been able to fight that low?

Early on his carreer probably yes. But his stocky body might not have been as effective slimmed down.

People always like to match Mike against Ali. I've wanted to see Joe and Mike.

And honestly I'm not sure who would win. I guess I would lean more towards Mike tho. He was better all around for the most part. Power may be up for debate. But if Joe hits him with that Lungin' Left Hook, Mike might be in the bushes immediately.

Mike Tyson with Cus in his corner? Im taking Mike....he had much power power and speed than Frazier had, I believe he had a better chin as well, and he had a point that he could reach that Frazier could never meet him at.

similar styles but tyson had way faster hands than frazier, could put together combinations, and was not one hand dependent..if it got into the mid rounds there would be a greater chance that frazier's pressure could start breaking mike down physically and possibly mentally..if he hadn't taken too much punishment himself
