Above the fray.
I know him as King Tonga.
He was a nondescript wrestler in that era. Absolutely nothing stuck out about him.

Years down the line was surprised to hear/read the stories about how fierce a fighter he was in real life.

In wcw when he was the body guard for Robert Parker he could had mini run/transitional run. It could eventually got to Sting/hogan/flair at a clash or something.

yeah, I think he could have. If promoted and marketed correctly. And given the right mouthpiece. Maybe not as THEE top guy...but he coulda had a run like Mark Henry did wit the Hall Of Pain. Not the same gimmick or storyline...but on the level of that run.

Had he been in his prime during the post 2000s when social media and Internet really took over and wrestling started letting fans behind the curtain + all the legendary folklores of him being a legit badass, he would have definitely got a push and had big matches with people like Brock.

Guys like he, Steve Blackman, etc. would have ate good during this time

Nit really.

Everybody knew booker t beat Bautista ass backstage, and then the WWE turned around and had booker run from & job to bautista for months.

I feel like towards the end of WCW when they made him Hardcore Champion. That had they treated him like that when he came in with the Dungeon of Doom in the pre nWo WCW, he could have at least been a credible threat to Sting/Hogan and whomever else was potentially up there. Also same for US title runs. I looked at his Wiki. Surprised he didn't really cook in WWC in Puerto Rico. Guessing he might have been close to Brody and said fukk those dudes. Also feel like he must not have wanted to do long Japanese tours after his WWE/WCW runs and be away from his fam.

I feel like his ceiling was top goon. Like Goro to someones Shang Tsung. There was a match he had with Benoit in WCW where Be oit had to go through Meng to get to Sullivan and it felt like a boss battle where they beat the hell out of each other. He could have dabbled in the main event but i couldnt see a continuous stay

Haku could work in that late 80s WWF era especially when he carried Andre during that last run.
