Nah, Goodfellas is just too...well, good.
The slick way it opens and slowly transforms these characters from cool bigger than life brehs to actually lowlifes who are workers and throws them in the bushes is just insanely good.
Like mentioned there's very few mob(or any) films fukking with this imo, Godfather I/II come to mind. Once Upon a Time in America maybe.

time is the best decider on whether or not something will be a classic or not
its still a decent film tho, but Irishman is ahead of it for me right now, but like i said, ask me again a decade after Irishman's release

Lets not cry over spilt guineas
I been thinking bout this more and more after watching The Departed again recently. Goodfellas is 1 of the greatest films of all time; shyt, some would even say the greatest. But man, The Departed to me is just as great. I know I enjoy watching it over and over like I do Goodfellas. Scorsese did a great job directing this.
