Outside point of view here...

I doubt it, no offense but Americans seem to be quite "stuck up" on "traditional" "morals"...let's be honest presidential races are at least as much about programs than about personality/perception, and the wives are basically part of the show...how many times did we see Obama or Romney's wife paint a picture of a "family" man...somehow a man's personnal life is used as an indicator at how good he can be in public office :mindblown:

even the supreme court judge who just retired a couple years ago was seen as quirky in his bachelorhood

Unfortunately not. Bachelors after a certain age are looked at as untrustworthy or gay. I think a bachelor or an atheist would have the hardest time getting elected in a US election.

I know you guys elected Bush Sr AND Jr but it's not supposed to be a monarchy :what:

Not their bloodline in a sense of monarch but its important for leaders in general to have children to move forward their legacy and success. Still playing the field as an older/single man shows immaturity for a leader. It may be acceptable in a less civilized/barbaric nation where leaders die before 30 but in modern times it isnt a good look, friend. Typically they find a wife before they are propelled into leadership. As i stated it assists in giving them greater understanding of the people they are leading. A man with no wife and no kids still acting like a bachelor while running the country has a completely different mind set as it relates to family. A leader whos been through that phase already and has a wife/family is more seasoned in life, mature and more prepared for leading a group of people.

Marriage is an important part of getting ahead: lets people know you're not a homo; married guy seems more stable; people see the ring, they think at least somebody can stand the son of a bytch; ladies see the ring, they know immediately you must have some cash or your cock must work.
