Coronavirus Will Change the World Permanently. Here’s How.
Decent article from Politico on some of the long term changes we can anticipate from Corona....As a Management type-breh one of the first thoughts I had form this mess was that many employers will realize that maybe we DON'T need as many employees physically in the office as we once thought we did. As a manager for my particular division of personnel, I am taking steps to make some positions remote-only after the COVID shyt is over... I think teleworking may become a more mainstream way of doing business as opposed to having people physically in the office (wasting time and retail space, let's be real >60% of time in office is spent doing personal business/entertainment)
A few of the points that stood out to me were:
A new kind of patriotism.
America should and will likely move past weaponized patriotism
A return to faith in serious experts.
Less reliance on Facebook knowledge, more vigilance about false/non-credentialed "experts"
Regulatory barriers to online tools will fall.
TELEWORKING WILL become mainstream after this, mark my words
A healthier digital lifestyle.
Digital influencers/celebrities will rely less on centralized communication mediums and utilize a more "streamer-esque" approach to outreach
More restraints on mass consumption.
After this supply chain fiasco with toilet paper and cleaning supplies, we will see constraints on commercial consumption (not too much because Capitalism)
The inequality gap will widen.
We've seen that MOST people in America are ONE paycheck away from financial ruin.
