I don't get flu shots because I've accepted that 2-3 times a year I'll probably deal with the flu (in NYC it's inevitable). But once I have the flu/cold, it's usually the same 3-4 days, Vicks, soup, theraflu, Nyquil, stuff that has been around to get you through it (and if your immune system is really good, you still fight through it and go about your business). Covid-19 is NOT that. There are people (and I know the Coli doesn't wanna read this) who are stronger than you, bigger than you, healthier than you, with better access to medicines than you, who have gotten Covid-19. The Rock fukkin caught Covid-19 but let a Coli smartass tell him "well maybe if you had focused on your immune system, this wouldn't have happened to you"

The exact same way you do with a flu shot.

Virus adapt and change and have different strains how people haven't got a basic understanding of this yet when it's been on the news non stop for 15 months is beyond me

You have pro athletes out here catching COVID-19 and mentioning the after effects, yet dudes think building up your immune system will be enough lol.

Kezmekia was the lead developer for the Moderna vaccine (the best one imo) and has probably done the most research on Sara/mers/sars-cov2

More profitable for pharmaceutical companies to keep pumping you with yearly vaccines instead of simply recommending adequate Vitamin D supplementation as a preventative measure.:francis:

It's cheaper for those same pharmaceutical companies to sell those same vitamin D pills.

Plus they see a bigger profit from continuous monthly sales as opposed to selling you 1 shot every year.

Both my parents are medical professionals.... I know several black medical professionals.

Science & Medicine is a field that most black children around the world are pushed into by their parents.

Salute to the sister, but black employees dont really impress me.

In the pharmaceutical industry, non-black men own everything from the manufacturing to the distribution companies and the transportation companies that deliver the medicines.

Pfizer, Modera, Johnson & Johnson, AstraZeneca are not owned by black men.

Call me when black men have our own billion dollar pharmaceutical companies releasing medicines & vaccines to the market... then we can throw parties and celebrate

Until then - I'm not impressed.

Salute to the sister tho, but we gotta stop celebrating employees and servants.

You respect the dollar and that's cool.

But there's something to be said when your research saved the world. That's very impressive to say the least.

They said It becomes ineffective after 9 months. So are we supposed to get a new shot every 8 months?

But right before that it said pfizer is raising the price and doubled down on it just in case you though it was a game.

So we need it more often, gotta pay more plus it may not be effective against new variants of covid
:martin:

Get it if you want... I know for a fact now I'm not getting either one. Johnson and johnson starting to make recalls already
The Pfizer CEO admitted to not taking the vaccine that tells me all I need to know:francis:

right, read somewhere that a large percentage of people who died from this or were in serious condition had vitamin d deficiency. black people also absorb vitamin d less than other races because of darker skin, so many black people are apparently deficient, even if they go outside in the sun, where you get a lot of it. i take 5000 iu of vit d every day and got covid and the shyt was a joke, less than the flu. people need to try and get their immune system up, though it may be different if you're older or whatever.

This. I called it when the pandemic fist broke. Obviously this was always going to be a yearly thing like the flu shot. Well I never got a flu shot and never had the flu.

False. They'd actually make MORE money selling vitamin supplements. That industry already accounts for $150 billion annually. The vaccine costs about the same per dose as vitamins, but is only a one-time thing unless this yearly thing happens. Even then, vitamin sales would still exceed vaccine sales, annually, by about $100 billion/yr. since vitamins are taken daily, not annually.
