I know, the flu has more bodies. :skip: There are a number of indicators that while this is serious, hundreds of thousands of deaths, let alone millions, is wild speculation and it's irresponsible for experts to allow that sort of information to get out to the public.

Like dude you quoted wants a soundbite. Coronavirus is a very serious issue. But the scariest disease ever? Come on man. But the media isn't looking for measured responses right now, I get it.
An attack rate of 3 times the normal flu. Death rate 10 times. New virus so no one has any immunity to it.

Stop talking about the flu. You sound dumb.

keep preaching this is just another flu breh :scust:

Breh, you shouldn't be going to work with the flu. You risk spreading it to those who may succumb to it. You know thousands of people die from the flu yearly, right? So I don't want to read panic induced ramblings from someone who acknowledges they don't take one deadly disease seriously telling me I need to take another one more seriously.

i took a day off and went back to work because i can't afford not to. no nikkas worry about a damn flu cuz there's treatment and vaccine. :usure:

and you need to start taking this seriously. you can't compare this to a damn flu breh. Take off all the quarantine and travel ban all over the country and nation and see which one is deadlier. :sas2:

i'm now really worried about NBA canceling games. :stopitslime:

Cases in Italy rise by more than 1,200 in 24 hours
More than 1,200 new cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in Italy since Friday, the Civil Protection Agency said.

The total number of confirmed cases of coronavirus in Italy has risen to 5,883 from 4,636 on Friday, according to official figures, a rise of 1,247.

The death toll in the country rose to 233 from 197 on Friday.

The head of the agency, Angelo Borrelli, said in a news conference that of those originally infected, 589 had fully recovered while 567 were being treated in intensive care.

In total there are now 5,061 current cases (this figure doesn’t include those who have died or those who have recovered.)

The outbreak in Italy, which began over two weeks ago, is focused on a handful of hotspots in the north, but cases have now been confirmed in each of the country’s 20 regions, with deaths recorded in eight of them.

Cases in Iran increase by more than 1,000 in 24 hours
Iran’s death toll climbed to 145 on Saturday after another 21 people were confirmed to have died, as infections in the country increased to nearly 6,000.

Announcing the latest deaths from the virus, a health ministry official said in a televised briefing that the tally of confirmed infections had increased by more than 1,000 during the last 24 hours, totalling 5,823 by Saturday, Reuters reported. On Friday, the country’s confirmed cases were reported to be 4,747.

Iran’s foreign minister, Mohammad Javad Zarif, called in a tweet for world opposition to US sanctions, which he said were draining Iran’s resources, needed in the fight against the outbreak.

People hate comparing it to the flu... but the flu has arguably killed more people in the United States this past month than the Coronavirus. People are overreacting over the Coronavirus because the media like they do every several years, overhype some new unknown virus as the next big plague. It maybe true that the virus is more contagious largely due to the symptoms aren't exposed until it's too late, this notion or behavior as if it's "airborne HIV" is ridiculous. The studies show that the likelihood of it be fatal is largely no different from that of the flu. Those who already have health of immune problems, or are elderly are more likely to have fatal consequences than someone who's in good health. It's silly hearing reports like New York issued a state of emergency of 73 people exposed... not dead, but just EXPOSED out of how many MILLION people just in NYC alone? The overreaction is WORSE than the actual epidemic while influenza been killing approximately thousands to tens of thousands of people in the United States alone ANNUALLY and nobody gives a damn, let alone many refuse to fukk with a flu shot. So, why switch up now as if you going to live your life any more different?

it’s ok to be afraid of the unknown. We have yet to know the effect it will have on this country. Their is no vaccine, cure, it’s been hard to contain it etc.

For people to try to downplay this without knowing the full consequences is irresponsible.
