Weird approach by the Dutch government. Stating that it's near impossible to avoid 50-60% infection rate, their goal is to control the spread of infection amongst low risk groups in order to slowly build a form of group immunity over the course of months to lower the chance of spreading amongst high risk groups.

There is no scientific support for developing immunity against the virus yet, there is no real tactic to protect high risk groups other than advicing them to stay isolated/quarantined (for a period of months!) and at a 50% infection rate (avoidable or not) there would still be too many people needing intensive care even in low risk groups than can possibly be offered.
